Back in my youth, that’s how it was.

Teams played on the first Saturday of the season, then they all played midweek, either Tuesday or Wednesday, and then again on the following Saturday.

The first table was shown on Grandstand/World of Sport after those games, and in the Sunday newspapers.

It was only when Sty came along, with their sensationalism and philosophy of "everything here and now" that it changed.

Not everything is better nowadays.
I don't think much about football is better these days

Oh for the good old days.

Two things.....
1. Does anyone else agree that it should by rights be the privilege of the League champions to kick off the new season at home? It wouldn't have taken the greatest organisation to switch the ties, after all both opposition are from west London.
2. Has anything anywhere appeared in mainstream media about the £40m COVID allowance and the £35m special share sale allowance?

Just Askin' like.

It would but city always ask for an away game because of concerts and now the build

Any chance that it might absolutely piss down tonight and they finish up playing water-polo, and the crowd swimming, or queueing for a boat back to Warwick Rd station?
Scum.
