If it's true, Sly will just replace Ratboy with another thick, deluded Rag shill who will try to polish the stinking Rag turd for the benefit of the equally thick and deluded plastic glory hunters that have never been to the swamp who latched on to that rancid club when the going was good.
Someone like Evra or Yorke would be a good fit as both are irrelevant has beens, just like the shit club they used to play for.

Sly Sports placed ratboy into the elevated position he now enjoys. This giant broadcasting company gave him a platform from which he could verbally condemn the Glazers, pass judgment on the numerous rag managers that come and go, and incite hatred and violence from the zebra-clad morons that frequent the swamp. In effect, Sly gave this jumped-up little shop steward a power equal to that of a Downing Street cabinet - and still some people subscribe to them.

He's a cowardly, snivelling little nobody who sees himself as the Mr Big of the north west: the sort of spineless, playground bully who curls up in the corner and starts crying the moment a bigger kid comes along to confront him.

Ratboy will sell the bullets, but he'll make damn sure he's nowhere near the battlefield once the protagonists bear arms.
