Weirdly insular view IMO. Private investment all over the country benefits me (and you) if it creates jobs. Given how Labour made their “National Wealth Fund” and aim of attracting £3 of private investment for every £1 spent one of their biggest talking points in the run up to winning the election, I think it’s an idea that polled very well across the country.

It all depends on what it is, head lines of 300% investment of every quid is great but if it’s anything like selling off national assets needs to be considered carefully.

I have it on good authority that Rashford has got a lot of personal demons to deal with. He’s heading down the George Best route, without his skill at football. I hope he stays and keeps drawing the wages - but I also hope United fulfill their duty of care and get him the treatment he needs. There are a few threads on here about how easy it is to fall from grace and just because you are wealthy does not mean you are immune to addictions.
Fuck United but I can’t wish ill on a troubled young man.
It would appear that he is addicted to being a dick. Witness the wrecked expensive cars, the "don't look at me" appearance in New York, the parking on double yellow lines and showing off the spoiler to those present, the numerous speeding fines etc. Etc.. All actions of a dick with no respect for anyone else.

Has the publicity/anger over the new stadium paid/not paid by the government died down yet ?

Just bear in mind the rags haven't yet decided if they are building a new swamp or simply painting the current one.
All we are hearing at the moment is a government and a tax dodger blowing trumpets and even these are not their own.
The rag decision is due at the end of the year, my money is on them saying the current shithole is too iconic to knock down and the govt.saying the freight yard is in just the right place.

(4 houses will be built on that bit of waste land on Chester Road so the government will claim a win)

Lol

Iirc when Van Haal was there a rag post did the rounds that said “if we keep on sacking the manager we’ll be just like Chelsea. If we spend millions and millions on umpteen new players we’ll be just like City. If all we do is go on about how good we used to be we’ll be just like Liverpool.”

Turns out, they did all three.

And they’re still shite.

From what I have heard he needs to keep drawing his weekly wage so he can pay what he owes. It appears he has at least two addictions and neither are football. I suspect he was very badly advised a few years ago and his hangers on are only too happy to keep hanging around. Who wouldn't when you are 'mates' with someone earning £400k+ pw. It makes you wonder why the PFA haven't stepped in and given him the help he requires which is time away from football, the media etc. His PR team who decided that a honour for him would boost their business have a lot to answer for as well as his so called 'mates'. He might be a rag but he is still a human being.

Manchester United Update

Maguire not for Sale.

Manchester United’s current manager, Manuel Amorim has applauded the way in which Harry Maguire has resurrected his career.

Amorim admits that the online abuse, which included several references to “various concrete structures” had led to mental health issues.

“Harry has come back much stronger and harder. He has reinforced himself, Its almost as if he has steel rods running through his veins”.

Bit unfair to say he's resurrected his career. Maguire has always given 100% for them, and for wherever else he played for. He's a limited footballer though, and always prone to making mistakes. Never bad-mouthed anyone. He's been a good pro for them.

If online abuse worries them, they should not read it but get their team to handle it and send them an edited version.

The back page headline in the Fail:

Lift-off at last for the rags

Once again, it’s completely over the top, for a narrow victory over a non-entity, with all due respect to FCSB.

I take it that Silly Sally has expensive tastes - certainly not fish finger butties then.

It's code for they can't shift him and no other team wants him for the money they are asking.
