The inevitable result of FFP/PSR, as soon as one club goes overboard with ticket prices the pressure will be on everyone else to keep up (regional variations/London weighting notwithstanding).
So true and the PL is still determined not to tackle the main reason why clubs get into trouble...unsustainable debt. United have debts of least £1bn and are not paying it back anytime soon. This is a scandal but apparently Sheik Mansour paying Mancini a consultancy fee of £2.75m a year for three seasons (all legal and declared) 17 years ago is some sort of crime. You couldn't make this stuff up.

If ever the gap between us was in doubt.

City may not get everything right with pricing but this lot take the piss.

Are they still charging full price for kids too?
This is killing their support in my area of Lancashire. The youngsters all used to support LFC or MUFC. But now most of them seem to have switched to their local clubs like PNE and Blackpool. This is great for local football. Clubs like AFC Fylde ane Fleetwood have loyal supports as well. At the same time City and LFC are also now the dominant force amongst younger fans. United are facing commercial disaster in areas they used to dominate. It is crucial that City continue to exploit this situation by not alienating our hard core support in working class areas of Greater Manchester and its surrounding areas.

But their problem is the level of debt that they have built up over the last two decades, and the lack of European football to help pay it off, plus the lower matchday income at the swamp, along with no TV income from televising their games.
Really? No TV income? They have been bumping along the bottom all last season and they were still on TV every week. That is not going to change any time soon.

Great post, it looks like people at the club with marketing degrees have only just grasped this concept but bettrr late than never.

Empty seats incoming.....?

Ordinarily, I'd beon the side of the fans in a case like this but then I remember that these are the fans who banged on for decade after decade about 'Yanited being a brand, you see'...

And they did did it from behind that banner - which would still be ticking over if we hadn't won the lottery...

And we can expect this phenomenon of empty seats to not be seen as rats siezing upon an excuse to desert a sinking ship but instead, it will be described as a concerned protest.l or some such bollocks...

So, fuck 'em.

That's true I live at Fleetwood-by-the-Sea and it's City/dips & local teams.

When I moved here 3 years ago there were rags all over the shop, the older ones are still knocking about but are in the shadows these days.

So that's...

Cunha is the new Cantona
Zirkzee, the new Zlatan
Phil Jones, was the new Duncan Edwards
Januzai, the new Giggs
Wasn't Stuart Pearson, the new Best?
Feilaini was the new Keane (and their very own Yaya)

I'm sure there were more.
Hasn’t every attacking player, for decades, been the new Best?
Hasn’t every midfielder/defender, for decades, been the new Edwards?

The ridiculous hype which surrounds the festering excuse for a football club knows no bounds, helped by an ever supportive media that relies upon using the brand for clicks/income.
