Unpopular Opinions on Footballers

All I read about on Twitter after a game that Verratti is involved in is how amazing he is. In a lot of games I don't quite see what the fuss is about. No doubt he's a good player but think he's a bit over rated. I thought the same of Thiago last year when everyone was labelling him the best midfielder in the world. Was he not always a sub on the great Barca and Spain sides?

Anyone else have a player who they think similar of.

Pogba.

Huge potential, obviously. On field performances continuously indicate that Pogba isn't motivated. He's a gifted individual whose head isn't in the game - and he never, ever seems to go all out, giving his best. He's a talented but entirely unmotivated individual - any top club would be well advised to steer far, far clear of him.

I love Bernardo Silva on and off the pitch.

But in 4 years, he's had 1 phenomenal season, 1 good one, and 2 rather subpar ones. His best attributes are his work rate, tenacity, and versatility, but I think his end product is lacking.

I want him to stay, but if he wants to go I wish him well and believe he can be upgraded on.

i could name just as many games where silva and aguero were invisible. yaya made grown men look like children playing against him. a player that we will never see again/replace. he scored 25 goals from holding midfield. a beast of a player.

He certainly wasn’t a holding midfielder that season.
