keep the faith! I know we all want big name players, but not everyone wants or needs the money, the deal with Eto looked like it never going nowhere, if anything it was more of a deal to improve his current deal. We've got to support the team not matter who we sign! Rember 10 years near enough! Pissed through Wembley! That was certainly the best day of my life! So rember who we are, where we came from and just enjoy every minute of it! Lets not get like the Scum and start saying why didnt we sign him, we dont need him we should of got him and etc, and rember being a city fan isn't just for christmass, or a season its till death! fucking pricessless aswel! yeh i remember goin through all that and yeh some of them were great times,but i for 1 have had enough now i wana go and see a team that can compete for majour honurs now,i have had a season ticket 26 years,ive seen enough ifs and maybes,,i wana see the real deal now,we have a chance here and we cant let it slip through our fingers

already signed barry and RSC, others will surely follow theres plenty of time yet! these 2 already vastly improve the squad

barry great signing,and rsc is ok,,but if u think the addition at these 2 players is gonner make us a serious contnder for havin a go at the top for,u are very mistaken

All im sayin is give it time, nobody knows what will happen between now an 31st August - so save your moanin for then! id be very surprised if we didnt sign more quality before then

If you think transfer rumours increase season ticket sales to any great extent, you're insulting the intelligence of many City supporters.

Also, the club have announced who they've signed, or pulled out of signing, and have shown complete transparency in the dealings which have come off, and officially put things to bed when they haven't. As far as I can see, they haven't started or deliberately fuelled any rumours and have not really commented on rumours either. Apart from MH's usual line of "We're always interested in good players" the club appear to keep a dignified stance regarding any rumours unless they confirm they're in talks with certain players. So really, you're casting aspertions on the club too.

I therefore have to take up the option you offer and refer to you as the aforementioned Mr Cynical, and hope you understand my reasons for doing so.

We are signing eto'o, tevez and terry! 30,000 of us rush out and buy season tickets. Suprise, suprise they all fall through when our credit cards have been swiped and we end up with dean Ashton, chris samba and tugay.
Anyone remember many years ago we were supposed to sign john barnes in his prime, we ended up with Wayne Clarke. Season ticket sales had increased though on the strength of the rumour and it was said then that at least we were being linked with such players.
Well fuck being linked with them let's actually sign them.

2/ Disagree Bombo, think they're genuinely going for them. BUT Garry Cook has made a big song and dance about letting slip a 'big surprise' and getting people excited about how we're going to "make statements" etc. If he didn't KNOW he could deliver then he shouldn't have built up expectations so much, and if City don't deliver I will be pissed off. It's not that I need superstars to play for City, I just don't like being lied to.

we need to sort it out at the back,if we are goner be serious,imo lesscot would be a great buy,lucio,robben,horse face,ya ya toure,toure at arsenal infact,and tevez obviously,but that deal should be done now,and why is it not done?,after all he is a free agent now,and by the way i think barry is a top signing,im not so sure about rsc imo,,but of coarse i hope he proves me wrong

Why would you base your season ticket-purchasing on who we signed?

I haven't but your not telling me the transfer rumours haven't encouraged many who may have lapsed their support over the last few years to come back to the fold.

Would be prepared to accept your theory, but not necessarily agree, if our owner wasn't minted. Before starting a thread you should think about if it makes any sense what difference would it make to the sales and the income from the difference is small change to him thats why you are thinking nonsense
