Upton Park memories

Been once in 2006, Damarcus Beasley with the winner in the pissing down rain. At full time Micah and Ishmael Miller came over to the away fans and threw their shirts in and my old man caught Micah's. That was about the time when Micah was meant to be going to Chelsea aswell! Ended up getting the shirt signed through Micah's neighbour who my Dad worked with.

A 3-1 with a Yaya Toure brace and, if memory serves me right, 3-1 in the more recent title winning season when our initial away form was poor.

Only ever been twice, but seen us win both. 1991 Steve Redmond takes a penalty and somehow contrives to hit the ball twice and fall on his arris! Went in though and we won 2-1. Second time was New years day 1996, hangover from hell, spewing my ring up all over mini bus, very nearly stayed on bus but dragged myself out. Glad I did, Quinny scored 2 and we won 2-1. I was drinking Stella by the time we set off home..o happy days!!

The Redmond penalty game is the one that sticks in my mind. Great day out, support was bloody brilliant that day. Reidy was manager, kept on chanting Peter Reid's blue & white army literally most of the game and right through half time, banging on the ad hoardings. Remember their manager, think it was Billy Bonds saying that it was the best away support he'd heard at Upton Park. Game itself was dour 0-0 for ages, we scored late on, they equalised and pen was in last minute iirc with Reddo on his arse as the ball went in. Mental scenes. Probably not the best place for a last minute winner, had to run the gauntlet of Hammers chanting you'll never make the station all the way to the tube, very grateful for police escort that day! Good old-fashioned ground.

Standing in the West Ham end with a Hammer mate in the early 80's. We lost 5-1(?) and had two players sent off (I think).
My cockney chum was kind enough to console me in too loud a voice just as the game finished that I was not to worry as we would get our own back at our place
Could you keep your voice down please mate!

Upton Park? Best memory would be the way they threw everything at Man United to stop them winning the title in 1995, Milklosko had the game of his career.
