I know for some people that’ll be a dealbreaker. I’ve come to enjoy it because now having drinks on holiday or back home has become a massive treat after time off it here.
 
I was seriously tempted to go to this. Was going to base myself in Dubai and fly to each City game. The flights are dirt cheap. But the flights to Dubai and accommodation is coming in well over £1500 then there’s the internal flights, match tickets and spends. You’re talking £3k in total I reckon. Another example of getting fucked over by those who run football.

I think its going to have to be creative like Istanbul, maybe a stopover on the way somewhere but will worry about that after the Super Cup!

Followed City through all the dark dark days and Pep wont be around for ever so will do my best to get there.

Would be great if the club could do something but not sure how well our guys get on with the Saudis.

Have you considered going somewhere other than Dubai?

Budget airlines that fly to Jeddah include Wizz Air, FlyNas, Flyadeal, Pegasus just to name a few.

I'm missing the semi finals due to annual leave but arrive on Thursday night leaving Saturday and have got there and back for £355, and the UK to Europe element of that was £200.

It's just living in the US I get this "you Brits drink warm beer" nonsense all the time.
I always reply "that's because you Yanks drink beer to cool down. I drink it to get pissed up!
 
Please somebody correct me if I’m wrong but far as I can gather we are guaranteed a semi final slot. No idea when the semi will be played as the final is on a Friday (22 Dec). Also the entire thing is being played in Jeddah. So I’d say the semi is likely to be Mon or Tue?

If the above is true I’m looking at MAN - Jeddah on Sun return on Sat 23 £650 ish
VISA £130
Hotel 6 nights £350
Total £1130

That’s a fair wedge to pay for no beer and not much on offer for tourists. Are shorts allowed or are they classed as disrespectful? And how much is it over there for food/drink? Do they even sell pies? ;-)

I really want to go as a life experience because we’re going to all be dead before we know it. But it’s a lot of money. Will it be worth it?

The semi draw is late November usually and it will be Monday or Tues.

Personally I'd save yourself for the tournament in the US. I think we're extremely likely to win it in December but as an experience it would be worth it in 2025

Horrendous place and I’d never consider going anywhere near this disgusting country again. (But I do hope the Saudi guy buys the rags)

Just as a point of reference .. wearing one of their typical light cotton robes and being commando underneath is cool, comfortable and fairly liberating [emoji15][emoji23]
 
From what I've read on here it's a crying shame they've decided to play the tournament in Saudi.
I had a good pal who worked over there on a regular basis - he was adamant alcohol is served in the hotels.
Ti's what it is - I'm out I'm afraid, nothing political just haven't got the wedge
