The only reason they entertain him is because there are people trying to say they can't have him. Basic reverse psychology and it will be the same with Boris here - him and his followers paint him as a persecuted martyr and claim that 'the man' neo liberal conspiracy etc is denying democracy. If we just laughed at these idiots instead of giving them oxygen they'd disappear. Trump, Boris, farage etc all rely on the trigger happy outraged keyboard warriors as much as their supporters to keep them relevant and we keep falling for it

Everyone who fell for Trump if even for an instant tells the rest of us we should be ignoring him and us triggered keyboard warriors are all to blame for keeping him relevant. It’s not Trump, it’s not his supporters — it’s his detractors. Especially those who saw what he was in 1990 and tried to warn everyone. It’s all their fault.

Look, I get that those who fell for him for an instant are embarrassed as hell — and they should be — but I’d certainly appreciate it if they admit they fucked the fuck up — if only for an instant — and admit their blaming the rest of us for his continued presence is deflection of their own shame. Which we of course know it is. As do they.

Personally, I’m beyond “laughing at him.” Watching cops have their faces stomped in by the supporters he incited will do that.
