And I read you r comment already. It's dumb to challenge an anecdotal position. If you can reason, and I know you can, that there are quite a good number of moderates who believe what he espoused. All I'd require for him to make that claim is talk to 2 or 3 of them. It's how anecdotal evidence works.
Its really no different from your anecdotal evidence of your military friend who was a republican but was totally done with the Trump nonsense. That story you repeated often is no more reminiscent of any real reality than his anecdote of moderates agreeing with Trump.
Just like it wouldn't matter if no one believed you. Your belief is not required here either.
