Only way sometimes will happen is if Putin decided to terminate his assetNothing will ever happen to him despite all his law breaking

A few years ago, there seemed to be an age of people liking the strongman image, even looking to the likes of Putin and Xiping as bastions of such tactics. Johnson seemed to fall into that mindset as he, and what he promised with his Cabinet, showed them that he could take control, ousting May to make it happen.I said it on day one of the thread the night Trump was elected how this would end.
There were more than a few naysayers, but one by one they dwindled away leaving us with nutters and WUM's who profess to be cleverer than everyone else.
Snug, and dog?Wrong way around
This is a different kind of law-breaking though. Perhaps he will be indicted, will surrender willingly to authorities (rather than be humiliatingly arrested), but will plead out, including agreeing not to run for a Federal public office (since given current and anticipated congressional make-up, it's doubtful he'll be force-barred via the 14th Amendment). We'll never see him in an orange jumpsuit, though some of his lackeys who assisted in his theft/Espionage Act violations might see jail time, though, and/or will also accept public service bans (ala what the SEC/FINRA does in the case of public securities crime).Nothing will ever happen to him despite all his law breaking
I think the US is stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place on this one. This is a different kind of law-breaking though. But even if he is, I guarantee that the next Republican to get into power will pardon him.I think the US is stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place on this one.
Let's face it, on Jan 6 the whole country was a single Mike Pence away from a coup, and if the rioters had been better organised who knows what would have happened. The 99.9% of the GOP have gone insane, and with every day that goes by something else that would have been considered utterly bat shit crazy 5 years ago is normalised.
Rick Wilson (love him or hate him) was absolutely correct when he said 'Everything that Trump Touches Dies'. Trump is a cancer which is spreading throughout the GOP. The lack of consequences for his actions over the last few years has paved the way for wannabe despots such as DeSantis who has been banning books and the discussion of sexuality and slavery in schools.
If Trump isn't dealt with fairly and equally under the law, then your Republic is effectively dead, because there is absolutely noway back from this if he's seen to get away with it.
Trump will do anything to avoid jail, including faking an illness. But even if he is, I guarantee that the next Republican to get into power will pardon him.
The South Korean PM was jailed for 24 years and then pardoned just 3 years later. Malaysia's PM was jailed for 12 years in 2020 but has only just started his sentence after 2 years of appeals allowed him to stay out. I'll be astonished if he completes the sentence. And even if convicted of anything, I'll be amazed if Trump ever spends a significant amount of time in jail.
People don't do that, do they? Are you suggesting that this might not have been entirely genuine?Trump will do anything to avoid jail, including faking an illness.
Very true, good pointBut even if he is, I guarantee that the next Republican to get into power will pardon him.
