US Politics Thread

Just read this on NBC, my kind of guy.

Mike Fanon, a former officer for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department, who was assaulted by rioters during the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capital reacted to Trump's latest legal woe Tuesday.

“Donald Trump spent his entire lifetime f---ing around and he’s about to find out," Fanone said in a statement to NBC News. "I’d like to think that in some small way I played a part in all this.”

The GOP is struggling...

That is something many of us predicted (that is, the Trump base was not a bottomless pit of money).

Unfortunately, the level of gerrymandering and election inference is not dependent on party funding, as that is undertaken by Magats already elected and paid by their constituents, whether they want their money going to them or not.

“We ask that the trial be moved to Florida because of the unprecedented and wholly dangerous precedent of allowing the case against the former President to be presided over by an appointee of his predecessor. Former President Trump will only get a fair trial if he has an unbiased jury of his Mara Largo residents or family members and a judge appointed straight out of the Federalist combine. Justice must prevail!”

— Trump’s Legal team in response to the indictment (consisting of one second year online university pre-law student, two former southern AGs currently indicted for fraud and embezzlement, and a dog that suspiciously only barks at black people)
