You have no idea whether they have done the right thing or committed no crimes and are innocent. Nobody does.

I'd like you to imagine what you would say if Donald Trump pardoned his son from any crimes and then preemptively pardoned a bunch of people that his political rival is accusing of committing a variety of crimes before leaving office. The calls around fascism, cronyism and dictatorship would be deafening.

But it's your side so I guess it's ok.
He's pardoning people like the January 6th committee and officers who testified about what happened on January 6th. So that's just people giving and reviewing evidence and doing their jobs. The pardon is stop the incoming president financially burdening them once he gets Jan 6th struck from the record.

I may have bias' but on Jan 6th I certainly know who was right and who was wrong.

Now Trump may never have gone after them agreed but if he does release the Jan 6th prisoners as most expect, then I'm going to assume he would have.

In fact if he appeals this pardon then we'll all have our answer.

I'm with you on alms for the poor; attention to the MAGA accolite though, is altogether different. The former enriches the life of the downtrodden; the later, succors MAGA, and in the act of responding, helps amplify their lies. Better to ignore the MAGA faithful, than to respond, and in so doing, provide a platform for their mistruths.
This is a political subforum. If you don't want to discuss politics with others then I suggest you don't read here. Trying to rally others to block someone because you don't like their opinions is bullshit and won't be tolerated

I actually have a pretty good idea.

Is Trump going to commit new crimes to avenge those who called out his old crimes?

Trump only did a bit of light embezzlement and profiteering last time. Until he lost at the end. With all eyes on every move is he going to go there. Wont that get away in the new grift and serving the interests of the millionaire class he has pledged to surve. A fascinating and frightening time ahead.

I was actually thinking of what his entourage might get up to that might get pre-emptively pardoned.

And you do too, of course, but we'll keep playing pretend.
I'm one of those old fashioned types who think the legal system isn't corrupt so we should probably just go with what they think. You know, like with the 115 stuff that we're definitely guilty of according to everyone else who have pretty good ideas. People accused should stand trial rather than being cleared without a trial by a powerful political ally. Again, it's an old fashioned opinion now I know but can't shake it personally.

Yes, it's truly amazing how I seem to reach conclusions about what people might do in the future based on their behavio(u)r in the past. Just incredible that a human might operate that way. Who could possibly conclude that Trump might use the Justice Department to go after his political enemies? There's no evidence whatsoever that he's ever implied or done such. Which you know, of course.

Incidentally, I am not arguing pre-emptive pardons or even pardons generally are okay btw. I was very much against Biden's pardoning of Hunter for a variety of reasons, e.g. and said so.

That's like an American saying they'd love to live in the UK but they'll be stabbed and their daughter will be kidnapped by Muslim rape gangs.

Do you think that's a fair reflection of your day to day life in the UK?

The US is one of the richest and most tolerant countries in the world. It isn't Mad Max. Not even Texas.
Too right. The OP sounded like my mom when I went to see City and football matches on the Continent in the 90s. Oh my goodness you are going to get attacked by hooligans, you will be lucky to escape with your life, you are going to get hurt blah blah blah. Although she never said hooligans but you get my point.

'Too California'.meant he lives in a place where he can afford to judge People on their politics. Everyone around him is a liberal. And the few who aren't could as well be lepers.

But when you live on a mixed State, you quickly realize "There are good people on both sides" :p
Put the shovel down.

It would be a bit daft to silence Dax who seems to represent the thoughts of over 70 Miilion Americans and who's political party have just battered the Democrat’s. Let's be honest he's took more shit than anyone ( loads off me too). He's perfectly entitled to give it back however we all feel.
Hmmm, won the White House by the slimmest vote margin (~1.5%) in years, is hanging onto the House by a thread, but picked up a small majority in the Senate.

It’s like losing a tight game in injury time to an own goal and saying the loser got battered!

Anyway, now it’s time to govern and legislate. Let’s watch and learn.

All sounds so “just,” with the exception that when a government, with an untold number of top lawyers and the worlds deepest pockets, targets an individual, it can literally bankrupt almost any normal person trying to defend themselves against the most ridiculous targets…as noted.

In this instance, your position is naive and your 115 comparison is ludicrous.

Not a person anywhere thought Trump would win the Popular Vote. Yet he did. I can't stand the horrible bastard but near 80 Million of you lot have put him in charge.

“You lot”

80 million in a population of 330 million means there could be a rather large majority not in favor of him, but let’s lump all 330 million into your predetermined “lot.”

And, again, we are going to have to live with the decision of many, many undereducated voters (who are also going to have to live with his lies and “changes of heart”), but let’s not overegg it by saying liberals got “battered”!!

Liberals ran a half Jamaican-half Indian American woman from the most liberal state in the nation…and she lost by about 1.5%!

As I said, now let’s watch and learn…

Meh, someone else’s time, money and fear-caused anguish and suffering isn’t relevant — come on now.

I have a feeling it’s going to be quite a lesson but doubt anyone who hasn’t learnt the lesson already will be any the wiser in 4 years time.
‘You Lot’, are a scary bunch tbh.
