On another note, here in St. Paul about 15 mins from the murder of Alex Pretti. At a college track meet with several hundred in attendance. Quiet here; a few folks with “ICE OUT” signs on street corners in the bitter cold. Every siren you hear people at cafes and shops look out the window to see if it’s just fire/police or something else. Some chatter about another rally/protest downtown Minneapolis tonight. I think one more death like this and this will escalate much more violently.
 
Was reading all this on Reddit (which still feels far more nuanced than the bigger socials) with all the different footage from this new execution (which I usually don’t like to watch).

Utterly sickening. Think this guy was a nurse going to assist a woman pushed over by these absolute bonafide thugs.

The administration are not only flat-out lying about what is happening, they are making incendiary comments in the hope that it does erupt into violent clashes so that they can justify sending in the National Guard and escalating further. It's precisely what they want and the dangerous thing is that everyone know they are lying and they are getting away with it.
 
So the man who lost his life was legally carrying a gun however he had it dispossessed by an ice agent before they fired the first shot at him.

I’m actually lost for words with what is going on over there right now.

Of course it's the mayor and governor causing insurrection...You know the ones that have had numerous press conferences today telling the people of their state to protest peacefully and not react to your proud boys cosplayers looking for the reaction you need to get your button mushroom hard for martial law.

In other words, they've murdered somebody once again in broad daylight. And they'll get away with it because the president of the US is an amoral waste that needs putting down.

And some thought Trump couldn’t get away with it. I wonder if they’re regretting their vote, because the blood is on their hands.

Everything seems to be going exactly the way ICE want so far tbh.

They’re getting away with grabbing anyone they want off the streets, tear gas and pepper spraying whoever they want and murdering people with zero repercussions.

I honestly don’t know where things go from here. Republicans don’t give a shit, they aren’t going to do anything via congress or the senate. Democrats can’t do anything and frankly apart from the state level and a few progressives they’re not even saying the right things.

People keep asking for Walz to send in the national guard but what are they going to do? They’re not going to round up federal agents and drive them out of the state, and if they did it would be civil war.

This can’t go on until the November elections, and I think it’s just going to get worse. Only a matter of time before someone shoots an ICE officer and all hell breaks loose.

I can’t imagine how Americans are feeling seeing this happen in their own country, state, city.

Well, Walz HAS called for the Minnesota National Guard, as has the city of Minneapolis. They have to protect people. I don’t think they have a choice now.

Sheriff Dawanna Witt also asked for the Guard to be sent to the Whipple Federal Building so deputies can be reallocated elsewhere.

From what I’ve called in the National Guard to protect minnesotans by…dispersing crowds and defend the building ICE is based in, relieving a few police officers to be elsewhere in the city.

He’s not going to order them to stop ICE operating.

One of Donald Trump’s top advisers, and the architect of his immigration policy, Stephen Miller wrote on social media that Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old who was killed by a federal immigration agent was “an assassin” who “tried to murder federal law enforcement”.

An assassin. Ffs. Fuck off Miller you little weasel.
