Sigh
I think it's time to stop showing a graphic of GDP growth as if it's some sort of counter-argument to the experience of real people who feel they have been treated badly financially for the last few years, if not decades. It hasn't worked in practice apparently and it certainly isn't going to work on here now.
I can only imagine. Same for the gay/lesbian/trans etc community. Or the immigrant community - especially children. Surely you must all feel vulnerable now.As a woman, It feels incredibly sad and lonely this morning. You all may laugh about it, and I can’t believe I’m sharing this on a sports forum, but the feeling of having no bodily autonomy is horrifying.
Spot-on. GDP is a false measure of a country's wealth. If you strip out the City of London impact from the UK figures the rest of the country includes some of the poorest regions in Europe. The pundits are always quoting figures that the UK is "one of the wealthiest countries in the world." Not for the 55 million people who live outside the South East bubble it isn't. Even GDP per capita is not a true reflection of the situation.GDP growth means nothing to most people and has had little to no effect on their wages.
A very slight understatement of this historic , nightmare of the last 24 hours ;) and that was before Trump was elected.Sigh
Fully aware of that. I haven’t actually been living under a rock for four years.
Price inflation of consumer goods has rocketed though and seriously hurt people in the wallet, particularly working class families. Rightly or wrongly (and in this case I agree, largely wrongly) the incumbent government will ALWAYS get a kicking for it. It’s politics 1.01.
People felt better off under Trump, and that’s the beginning and end of it. The rest is noise.
For every man woman and child of the world, this man thinks the climate/global warming is a scam.I can only imagine. Same for the gay/lesbian/trans etc community. Or the immigrant community - especially children. Surely you must all feel vulnerable now.
Hopefully the bite will be a lot less than the bark once the dust of the election clears.
As a Chinese, I once tried to tell people "uyghur genocide" is a lie, on this football forum's politics subfroum. And no one believe me! Not a surprise...But that is life.As a woman, It feels incredibly sad and lonely this morning. You all may laugh about it, and I can’t believe I’m sharing this on a sports forum, but the feeling of having no bodily autonomy is horrifying.
