Did Obama allow Trump in by telling Biden to step aside for Hilary?
I half watched a YouTube pundit yesterday making a similar point re: Bernie Saunders. In badly paraphrased summary the kind of people who used to support Bernie now overwhelmingly support trump (ie dude bros)

November 4th Trump was complaining they were burning votes and bringing in votes from California to swing states so just like in 2020 Dems were acting to steal the vote. Early hours of the 6th November and all such suggestions are gone and never aired again - so are we supposed to believe that in 2020 the Dem's stole an election then it just slipped their mind to do the same last Thursday?

I don't think democrats need to sink lower than Trump and his cabal. I think if they just stop calling people who disagree with them stupid and uneducated then that will help. Also saying America is too racist and misogynistic to appoint a black woman as president isn't going to win you support. No one is sat listening to that and suddenly having an epiphany that maybe they are racist and misogynistic. They'll just say it's racist and sexist to assume black people and women should have voted for Kamala because she is black and a woman. I remember people being outraged that Bigga would have a negative view of Obama because they were both black.

Also the democrats might be the party to protect women but from the rights perspective the left can't even define what a woman is. Then the left accuse them of being unreasonable and weird for believing something the vast majority of people has believed for most of human history.

The undocumented migrants defence is weird. Hey guys we need people who will work jobs for low wages and it's important that there is no record of them existing. I don't think rounding them all up and deporting millions of people is the best response but neither is supporting a system that is only a few steps removed from human trafficking. One of the first responsibilities of every government is to have secure borders.

For clarity I think Trump has very few redeemable features and should probably be in prison. But reading some the rhetoric on here is disheartening - not because people are indecent but because they demonstrate many of the elitist attitudes that the Trumpers easily rally against. Educated people can be stupid, racist, misogynistic and wrong. Telling people they are stupid doesn't make them smarter but equally being educated doesn't make you less stupid. You just have the biglyest words
So in other words, for the Democrats to win they just need to . . . 1) lie and 2) agree with Republicans.

They should hire you as a strategist!

Also, just FYI, for the world to become less racist and misogynistic, those who are must have epiphanies. By definition.

Seems to have gone the same way as the Russian interference - the margin is too big for it to be anything but a convincing democratic choice. I see this as an overwhelming positive. A narrow margin either way would've turned the next few months into a violent or litigious circus.

Saying what we really think on here is not the same as putting it in the mainstream media or on the larger social media platforms. At best there’s only a few hundred people reading this forum so I’d rather be able to say what I really think without worrying about upsetting people.

Having said that I think Trump is one of the most repulsive people on the planet and people who have voted for him are either moronic, venal, obnoxious or in many cases all three. If that upsets his supporters on here I really don’t give a shit.
You either missed my point or reinforced it. (Or I explained myself poorly).

Yeah it’s odd the whole stop the steel bollox and those hundreds on standby to overthrow democracy have been stood down.

Ha ha ha as if Trump had gotten creamed he wouldn’t have screamed interference and cheating . . . sure mate.

This is an incredibly naive view IMO.

Their base WANT to deport immigrants, freedom to discriminate against trans people, ban abortion, get huge tax cuts deficit be damned, fuck over importers, abandon Ukraine and punish the free press. That’s what they VOTED for. In their view that isn’t fucking up the country — it’s fixing it.

Think you’ve missed my point. They believe right now it will fix the country. When they implement those things and then start to see the real world impact including on themselves, it becomes a very different matter and a lot harder to maintain.
