US/UK launch strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen

Give me one good reason why we shouldn't be defending these ships if we have the means to do so?

It is proscribed in international law that every ship has the right to free and unhindered passage. If nobody defends that right then what is the point?

Based upon what you're saying, why do we bother to defend ships from pirates in the Gulf of Aden? Why don't we just allow these people to do whatever they want and we as consumers can just pay the increased price instead?
OK so on that basis if the amazon delivery driver gets his van nicked on the way to drop off my newly purchased whim of the week, do I have to go out and find the cunts that nicked his van or will it be down to amazon?

Why can't Israel defend it's own ships?
