That was a little disappointing.Didn't like Weirs celebration either just to add..

We’ve been used as a cushy number in the run up to the Euros. Now, we’ve got a large scale exodus of England players who’ve achieved their dream.
Bronze and Stanway agreeing to leave before the Euros supports my point. You might not be able to realise that lol. Walsh put in a transfer request a few seasons ago so it’s not a new situation.Used lol? we'd already let Jill Scott go and most people were giving Ellen White pelters last season for being past it so going out on top probs seems a good time to call it a day. Bronze and Stanway already agreed to depart before the Euros. The interest in Walsh has stepped up off the back of her Euros displays which is entirely understandable, she is a truly elite player. Arsenal, Chelsea and even United don't seem to have had the same problem with their big name players wanting to leave (though it sounds likeRusso won't be signing a new contract) so it looks far more likely, that for some reason, we aren't providing a set up that matches the ambitions of elite players at the moment. And given our resources, that's a choice we're making. Let's not make ourselves out to be some kind of victim in all of this.

The reality is that international football is many times more important to the players than the WSL. A slight difference between City and say Arsenal is that we have let England pick from our full squad in the weeks before title deciders while the Gooners played it a bit smarter.
I don’t blame the players for making the best of the situations and some are much more marketable after the Euros. Maybe we haven’t matched the players ambitions but our marquee signings have often had long spells on the treatment table.
Stanway has become a top international player in spite of being in and out favour and being moved into lots of different positions. I hope she has a great career.
You can bellyache about City but our crowds should have been bigger given the calibre of players we’ve had. People need to turn up and support the Women’s Team if they want to see the best players turning out for us.
I would imagine the players would rather play in a packed Nou Camp, even if just once a season against Real Madrid. We don’t lose players to Arsenal or Chelsea.I don't get how any of that translates into those players "using" us though. If Stanway has been in and out of favour and moved across different positions then it makes sense for her to leave. Caroline Weir is Scottish and she still left.
As for average attendances, we have a higher attendance than Arsenal and we're second only to Chelsea , so that still doesn't really explain why we aren't retaining our players whilst Arsenal go into their season with their top players retained and a couple top notch additions. Things have fallen flat at city and I don't think the players or the attendances can be blamed for that.
I totally get why playing overseas is a more appealing option than playing with us. But it still stands that it's mainly us that are seeing our best players make that move. I thought Miedema was nailed on to leave Arsenal with Barcelona interested but they've somehow convinced her to stay.I would imagine the players would rather play in a packed Nou Camp, even if just once a season against Real Madrid. We don’t lose players to Arsenal or Chelsea.
Some of the players will just want better life experiences and I imagine that is the case with Weir. She doesn’t owe us anything.
Players who were out injured for much of their time with us could be a different case. Bronze was underwhelming and now she is playing a part in Walsh wanting to leave. It’s understandable as partners and we be fitted from the younger Bronze first time around.
I’ve heard very few of our players saying I want to get back for to play for City. There’s seems to be a lack of passion for the Club. Maybe continued Media negativity has played a part. There’s never a mention of Chelsea’s resources or how they’ve been funded.
Maybe it’s time for us tue fans to be the 12th person and lift some of the gloom. The post Euros season should be a boom time for the Women’s game.
It is just as far as I know.Is there anybody in the media who is discussing City losing important players (and the possibility of losing more) while the other top English clubs are not? Is it just a few of us on bluemoon?
I've seen it mentioned, along with the funding once or twice, but it never seems to be more than a passing mention. One of the problems with having so few journos covering this stuff imo, the few who are in a position to ask questions are (understandably) wary of burning bridges. Is there anybody in the media who is discussing City losing important players (and the possibility of losing more) while the other top English clubs are not? Is it just a few of us on bluemoon?
