Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed speculation linking Alvaro Negredo with a switch to Real Madrid this summer.

Los Blancos have emerged as contenders for the striker’s signature in the Spanish media in recent days, following the departure of Angel Di Maria to Manchester United.

But with just two days of the summer transfer window remaining, Pellegrini insists he has no intention of allowing Negredo to depart the Etihad.

‘Maybe one month ago some Spanish clubs had an interest in him but that was one month ago,’ he said.

‘At this moment Alvaro is injured but part of our squad. Last year he did very well and then had an injury with his shoulder and after that he didn’t play so well, but he’s always an important player for us.

‘We don’t want to sell him. We want him to stay with us.’

According to LaOtraLiga been told the club's sporting director Ché, Rufete, has gathered during the day today with representanete player in the luxury hotel Villa Magna in Madrid. The agreement with the player is total and could be announced in the coming days to accept the English club's proposal. It will be the icing on the new super project by Peter Lim.

Amadeo Salvo, Rufete Koh and Kim (right hand Peter Lim) have traveled to Madrid along on Saturday morning in order to close the additions of missing players by landing at Mestalla.
