So new formation

...............Aguero(or Edin)

................Silva

Jovetic......Yaya..........Nasri

Fernandinho Fernando

Could work well.

Could work well except we'd be playing 3 at the back.....

Well spotted. Fernandinho or Fernando.

If we let him go (even for the reported 24m fee) I think that's shortsighted as fuck.

Leaves us with 3 strikers 2 of which are sick notes.

Could get messy.

On the plus side wouldn't the 24m mean we'd literally spent 'nothing' this window and hence placated UEFArce?

For the avoidance of doubt.......

JOVETIC IS NOT A STRIKER......

anymore than Mangala is a holding midfielder, or Fernando is a winger

Thank you

We've all got our opinions. The opinion of the MANAGER is Jovetic is a striker. :)

Seriously , relax. We will be just fine. Have a little faith, there's still a fucking ridiculous abundance of attacking quality in our squad.

Reports picking up the pace in Spain that Valencia have reached an agreement with Manchester City regarding Alvaro Negredo.

Just over an hour until the deadline and all of those linked with moves still not official. Micah and Negredo announcements should be close.

Sky just said they understand it is an obligation to buy after the loan, not an option. Deal expected now to go through.

I don't get this 'obliged' thing.

Are they still obligated if he gets a career ending or long term injury? What if he's just plain shit?

What happens if they simply don't have the money?

They have to pay whatever the scenario. Or its breach of signed agreement

Not good. We don't need the money now. Aguero likely to be out a lot. Jovetic unproven. Leaves us with Edin who is thankfully capable of leading the line.

But they are going to being playing a lot.

It's effectively a permanent transfer. Whatever happens. Loaning for 12 months first will be about cash flow for Valencia. Bet there's a loan fee too. Excellent deal for City.

If we don't replace him it isn't.

For a manager hell bent on 4-4-2, three strikers only - one of whom is injury prone - is a pretty bizarre strategy. If we desperately needed the money it would be vaguely understandable, but to do it when the window has seemingly gone well and at the last minute doing this, is even more weird.

I confess I am baffled as to why we would do this.

Negredo to Valencia. Loan to buy £24m with £2m loan fee

I know it's not what people want to hear but that's too good to turn down for both the club and player
