If we don't win the league it will certainly be seen as a major factor.

Jimfv1 said:For crying out loud, He's injured, then has to get match fit, and as has been said already he wasn't a prolific scorer in the league either. Whether his Mrs is homesick or she wants to be back in Spain because he has been having an affair over here doesn't really matter to us, but it's probably better to let him leave if the deal is right in money terms for the club.
If Iheanacho can get a permit then he could be added to the striking roster. Jovetic was missing last season but he can replace Negredo this season. Last year we had Jovetic, Aguero and even Negredo out or unfit for long spells, so with the other strengthening we have done we have a better squad than last year. Silva played as a supporting striker last year in the occasional game and Both Nasri and Toure can be pushed further forward to support a striker. We don't have any problems in letting Negredo go.
There is also the issue with the squad size, we cannot bring anyone in except for homegrown players for the league squad, Negredo was also looking at missing out on the Champions League games too.
Some supporters need to realise that to improve the squad we will need to move on some favourites and it's no use moaning about this player or that player going and acting like spoilt brats. If it's Negredo now, it could be Toure, Dzeko or Nasri next window. Signing new contracts doesn't mean the player will see the term out, it just means we can get a fee if they leave early. As long as the club bring in players to replace those that leave then we as fans should be happy with the direction the club are taking.
Where is Negredo in the current pecking order for City ? If he's 4th choice then there is no problem in bringing in a better player to replace him when one becomes available.
Let's see how it plays out. I trust the guys in charge at the end of the day. Just hope it works outMarvin said:I agree it's disappointing but the bottom line is he wants to go, and he's injured and he's also not available for Europeono said:I'm sure the club do know about it but that doesn't stop us from being allowed to moan about it haha.Marvin said:You don't think City know all that?
Which Negredo are we losing? The unstoppable phenomena or the absolutely useless lump? We don't know what his mentality was like this season. He might hae been promised a move if a Spanish bid came along for all we know. As I have said repeatedly Negredo can't play until October and can't play in Europe so he's a pretty useless 4th choice striker anyway. And the window opens in January
We may come to regret this. These are managerial decisions you take which have an element of risk and a regard to many factors which we don't know about including the individual
It's just a big risk to take. Even though Negredo is out til Oct/Nov, there is still a period of about a dozen games where rotation would be very useful. Considering there was only 7 points between 1st and 4th last season, it only takes a couple of bad results to put us in a pickle.
We can buy again in January, but as we saw with Dzeko, he might not see the benefit til the year after.
We've done a great but of business with Negredo financially, but we really do need a replacement to come in. He did only score 9 in the league, but he scored 14 in the cups, and that will take some replacing.
The only criticism I would make is that we try and find a replacement on deadline day, but I bet Valencia only came alog with their concrete bid in the last 2 or 3days. We had a replacement lined up, but Utd blew us out of the water with £346k pw.
Yu can say turn the bid down, but how do you know Negredo's lac of form last season was not down to him being unsettled. We really don't know, but we think we're smarter than the people who won City trophies and have made very good footballing decisions to date
I'll criticise from time to time, but although I'm disappointed to see a player go and not come in, I'm aware that there are sometimes situations when you don't have full control of events and you just have to roll with them and plan for the future
It depends on the fitness and form of the other three. Maybe Kun and Jovetić can stay injury free all season and possibly Džeko could banish his slumps in confidence, that affect his form sometimes, for good. If these things happen we'll be alright. But it's a big if.de niro said:if the beast goes without a replacement you can kiss goodbye to retaining the title.
TonyM said:IMO we could do with 2 things more than a striker....cover for central midfield and pace in attack. I'd have been happy if Zuccilini stayed for cover, or Evans even. As for pace, no idea. Maybe one of he kids are due to be promoted.
As it stands we are short. But then again we are City and it was weird being perfect. ;-)
Freddy Guarin is fucking shite. No offence but not up to the standard we have. In Real he is probably in 5th choice.Mancitybluemoon1 said:TonyM said:IMO we could do with 2 things more than a striker....cover for central midfield and pace in attack. Maybe we could beat Real to this loan deal? ;)

I'm afraid you may be right. Can't believe what txiki has pulled off on the last day of the window.
