I've asked this before and someone may have responded which I missed, but what is the difference between a loan with a n obligation to buy and a normal transfer. Few clubs pay for player up front so if a player's registration is exchanged and payment structured over a period of time I don't see the difference between a loan with obligation to buy and a transfer with structured payments.

Maybe to do with which accounting year the fee is counted in?
 
This is an unmitigated catastrophe!
The thought of not hearing beeeeeeeast echoing around the Etihad fills me with sadness, never mind losing a brilliant player.
Hope it doesn't go through but good luck to him if he goes.
We will always have happy memories of him....

The money these lads earn is incredible and for the length of time they are away from their homeland they should just get on with it then return home with a shit load of cash when the career is over ,and as for the wives yelping book a ticket home on the first flight for the whinging mares.

They can afford English and Spanish and Mandarin for that matter lessons for their kids to boot.

This crock shit about wifes not settling in is easily solved.

She can have him on every even day and his model mistress every other day , failing that I am sure he can speak spanish fly to the porn stars.

If he wants out and I assume its his misses than wants him out after all where will get the chance to play for a top club in the best league in the world again and have the chance to win more trophies FFS.

Negredo needs to take a trip to Liverpool and have a chat to Mario.

I guarantee you if he is still in the caper in two years time he will be back in England playing for Stoke or Everton.

But he wants to go back to Spain I think so we can only buy someone after a suitable Spanish club bids for him.

No flexibility to buy first as we wanted to bring in Mangala and had the £50m transfer cap

If so will be just fine, bit if not our three strikers will have an awful lot of games to play.

We won the league with 3 strikers last year - Jovetic was out most of the year. We also managed with those strikers despite Kun being injured for a large part of the season……… Also, Negredo was out with shoulder injury for large part of season and didnt play well when he returned. This season, we don't have Negredo until November anyway so we may as well get what we can and buy someone in Jan - (not a crock loan mercenary like Falcao though)

They'd have had an awful lot of games to play as Negredo can't play until October at earliest and wouldn't have played in Europe

I don't know when the last time he scored a competitive goal for City was. His game had dropped right off

Fair points about bringing in a replacement, but remember we are operating under a £50m sanction and the priority was getting a central defender in. That means we have to sell before we can buy, and it looks like the bid came in right at the end of the window. Had Valencia bid for Negredo in June, I'm sure it would have all been sorted out by now

I'm guessing at circumstances of course, but I don't think many of the criticisms are fair. I'm disappointed we've lost a player who for a time was as good as anyone, and not replaced him, but maybe it wasn't as easy and a straightforward problem to deal with

If we were going to do that we probably would have brought him on pre season. He's a Melbourne player, can't see it happening.
