Van Persie

RVP hasn't improved the rags by much this season.

1 better than they were after 19 games last year, 1 point better on like for like results.

I guess you might say they were due a drop in results this season and he has stopped that happening. But I reckon if he wasn't there someone else would stepped up and scored the goals he has.

I read somewhere that if you take away his goals for them this season they'd be in 6th place right now so he improved them a lot since the others aren't playing well this season.

But really people on here need to stop going on about RVP. We went for him he turned us down and went to the rags. End of story.

But if he wasn't there someone else would have been there. Rooney for example scored lots last year, but much less this year in a different role because RVP is there.

Of course hes made a difference, hes the best striker by a mile in the premier league, hed make a difference to any team in the world bar Barcelona probably, but i wouldnt say its solely down to him at all, for example take away his 13 premier league goals and wed have 35 without him, i think you guys have scored 34 so far this season, so even without Van Persie our scoring rate isnt to shabby.

Rooney is better than RVP because he has so much more to his game. I wouldn't swap him for Aguero either

Aguero is not on form at the moment. But he will be back

Yep but you have conceded 28 where as we have conceded 16, so without his goals bailing out your defensive frailties you could well have been out of it by now

Well i strongly disagree with you on this one Marv, Rooney is a better all round player but as a pure striker Van Persie is streets ahead of him and everyone else and i watch them both week in week out, hes so much more prolific than Rooney, Aguero whoever you want to bring into the debate, Rooney like Aguero, Tevez, Suarez etc are all fantastically gifted players but they miss so many chances by comparison, none of them are clinical strikers in the way Van Persie is, the stats back this up but really just watching them play shows you this.

Put another way, if you were to give 1 clear cut goalscoring chance to any of the above with your life depending on it being scored who would you pick? i think its a pretty easy answer tbh.

Mmmm. RVP wanted to go to United and you are complaining at City fans who didn't want him?

No, we hand him in the bag he wanted to come, but we *ucked about over the fee the rags offered £2million more and possibly bought the title tipping player in the process. There wasn't a Rags, or nowt issue here, simply some piss poor negotiating from our club.

I think initially, he wanted to go to one of the top 2 in Spain but neither showed an interest in him which surprises me as IMO, he is a upgrade on any striker Madrid currently have (not counting Ronaldo as one of course). I believe it's widely reported and even Wenger said he rejected Manchester City in favour of Utd. Your strikeforce isn't really a problem, Aguero could easily match his numbers but he hasn't been in the best of form and no one can predict that. It's more what's around him. He is easily the best out and out striker in the league though and also the best player in the league too so you can't really say no to a player like him even if you are well stocked in that area.

Is that straight from the horses mouth Mr VOOMER? Are you saying that we wanted 5 top (or expensive, depending on how you see it) strikers on our books?

He was always a MANUre fan from being a little boy in Holland, testament to which was his JVC shirt and pictures of Ian Wright on his bedroom wall. I was one who didn't want the fucker anywhere near the club. He's a snivelling little shit who belongs in a snivelling little shit of a club! And if that means 40 goals this season so MANUre fans can get to use those '20' t-shirts they printed last season, so be it! Rooney's another shite I wouldn't want near my club. I posed the question to my renegade Evertonian son by asking what he would do if Suarez came to Goodison - time to stop supporting football he says! Same for me!
