Not so much a rant, but the anomalies of officiating.
Tonight was a prime example why the frame rate used for offside is shite, as is the human decision as to when the ball is actually played.
For the first Newcastle penalty, the speed the forward moved, had they decided to use the next frame he would have been at least 30cm offside. The frame used had the ball on the Newcastle players foot. Can't remember which game it was earlier this season but we were denied a goal when they determined offside using a frame after the ball had left the City players foot.
No consistency.
