VAR - 2020/21

i think it's a joke that they didnt use VAR at this stage of a major competition

i also enjoyed celebrating fodens goal, i suspected he might have been off but without VAR, goalllllllllllll

Fernandes would of been brought to book for his slimey part in Richarlison's injury.
A despicable player who dives, cheats rolls around when anyone goes near him and is forever telling the refs to fuck off.
He is a cancer in the premier league

I enjoyed being able to celebrate our goals on Tuesday without worrying if they'd be ruled out. It served as a timely reminder how much enjoyment VAR has taken out of the game
Thats my thinking too.
Also there's something to talk about after the game.
I also think players take more of a chance on the offside plus players possibly know they can get away with more like Fernandinho and Cavani the other night.
Its up to the officials to get the decisions correct.

Diving has increased hugely with the implementation of VAR.
It's not long ago since 'simulation was considered a "scourge on the game' which the PTB were going to eradicate.

Well done fellahs.
Remember watching a rags game on tv when mark Hughes came back to them from abroad( can’t be arsed to find which foreign club) and he was tackled and rolled over several times and then writhed on the floor. Fair play to the rag fans they booed him and he immediately got up and the look of embarrassment on his face was a picture don’t think he ever did that again. Now that the make up of the prem and lower divs is mostly made up of foreign players throughout the last few decades it was bound to happen that feigning injury and dramas on the pitch would follow.

every fan feels victimised by the officials way before VAR, that will never change.
Liverpool have had the most VAR decisions go against them this season yet it’s constantly pushed that VAR is in place to help them. It just doesn’t add up.

If officials want to decide the game - the last thing they need is VAR - instead of just pointing to the spot at every dive or any tussle in the area - they have to have justification as they get a even better view of the incident, in slow mo, with the rest of the world also seeing what’s happened.

Again, I’m no VAR lover and I do understand so much of the criticism it gets - I’m just stuck in a mindset that if we scraped VAR it would be even more anarchy now, as we would have goals given miles offside, blatant dives given as penalty’s etc

simply, we have to keep improving VAR.

Anarchy you say if VAR was scrpped..

What a load of bollocks..How the fcuk did the game survive for over a hundred years before VAR was introduced then ?

In all my years watching football only in the last couple of seasons have I witnessed a complete disregard for the LotG when it comes to certain teams..

The money involved now is too much just to leave everything to chance. VAR is the perfect tool to remove chance and in turn keep the hoards of plastic fans hooked..

Support the dippers or rags ? then it's good news for you..

Look what we've done with the help of VAR, it's like the good old days, both back where they belong..

It matters not one jot that the rags have had 47 penalties awarded in their favour in 52 games or the dippers are allowed to forearm smash opponents, dive and roll around and have their gobby manager berate officials on the touchline without so much as a wagging finger in his direction, telling him to fkin button it..

When SKY pumped all the money into the game in the early 90's the rags got away with fkin murder..

Dodgy refereeing decisions by the bucket load and fkin 'Fergie Time',

Losing at home, not to worry Alex, we'll play on until you score, Sheffield Wednesday and us immediately spring to mind, the cheating bastards..

Oh poor Paul Scholes, he just can't tackle can he, hoho..! Fcuk off Tyler..

The little twat knew exactly what he was doing and he carried on doing it because he was never fkin pulled up about it, commentators like Tyler brushed it off as a fkin joke ..

Those cnuts did what they wanted for nearly 20 years without fear of reprisal..

And if a ref had the fkin audacity to award a penalty against them or send one of them off at the swamp he was taken off their refereeing rota for the next 12 months..

How the fcuk did the rags get a say on who reffed their games ?

It was bent then but it's off the fkin scale now..

Roll it forward to the VAR era and the dippers have suffered the most have they?

Tell me which game VAR has directly affected them when it actually matters ?

Having a goal chalked off or dropping 2 points in a league game means fcuk all when there are 30 odd more games for them to have it rectified by VAR..

Have they lost a knockout CL game due to a dodgy VAR decision?

Have they had goals disallowed in KO CL games?

Has the ref waived play on when their centre back was clearly fouled in the build up to the decisive goal in a CL quarter final?

Have they had nailed on penalties waived away against their main rivals in the league ?

Have they fcuk !!... Guess what.. we fcukin' have..! All courtesy of VAR..!

The authorities have had plenty of time to bed VAR in and implement it fairly and correctly..

1. Big screens in all PL stadiums.. What a coincidence that the dippers and rags don't have them eh..

2. Refs mic'd up to explain to the watching world how they have come to their decision(s)..

3. Officials made available for post match interviews..

4. Transparency is the word.. VAR is shady as fcuk, identical incidents in different games judged on the colour of a teams shirt.. Sounds perfectly fair and above board to me..

Keep..

Goal line technology..
Off the ball incidents..
Red card incidents..
Blatant cheating such as diving, feigning injury to get an opponent cautioned or sent off..
Abusing match officials..

The rest of it can get fcuked..!!

Stop sitting on the fence, Bill. Tell us what you really think!

Great post. Echoes what most fans think about the corruption endemic in the game since the crooks/media took over. (Apologies if they are not one and the same)

WE WANT TRANSPARENCY. Every other sport has it, why not football? (Best answers on a postcard to......). It speaks volumes when the commentary team know a VAR decision before the armchair viewers and, most importantly, the match going fans. Have they something to hide? (rhetorical)

You've already covered most of the points I was going to make, but I've got my granddaughter's Christmas presents to wrap, so I'll leave it there.

Have a great Christmas, mate.

Some English players even the saintly ones can show Johnny Foreigner a thing or two.
One thing liked Hughes for was that as a rags player he had a lovely old mansion in Alderley Edge and he kept it as he went to those foreign clubs and other English clubs as player or manager.
When Michael Carrick moved opposite in a similar house and got planning permission to knock it down and build a modern monstrosity,
Hughes was away like a flash. Wish l could do that.

I am not sure whether it is implied by what you and Bill said but being able to hear the discussion between ref and var would very interesting plus any other mystery voices the ref gets in his ear and for example causes him to put the red card away.
