Yeah to be fair that’s what I was thinking but give her the benefit of doubt what other reason could there be apart from genuine mistake or doing us over, can’t remember any other incidents involving her and us mate ...
I think she put up the flag to let the ref know she'd spotted Sergio in the crowd and was worried that he was going to give her another cuddle.

Because often it takes 4 or 5 minutes for them to make a decision and often it is still not the correct one.
VAR was in our favour tonight but it is not good for the game, it slows it down, the idiots are inconsistent in the decisions they make and it is killing football.
Var is not the problem, the problem is it's being used by human officials, who may be incompetent or inconsistent or both. That is exactly the same problem we had before Var. Even if it allows a small increase in correct decisions it is worth it. Some rules should be re worded to make some decisions more clear cut and minimise the possibility of human failings. The introduction of goal line cameras allowed a much improved judgement of whether a ball went completely over the goal line despite the usual whinging about how it would ruin the game. When was the last time you saw a 5 minute wait for a decision.

Tbf I've always thought of her has been as being fair and above board.

But that has now been a few occasions where she has tried to do us over.

I have seen her at the PiGMOB inset sessions at StGeorges where they are taught how to shit on Manchester City.
Unless we have proof she was trying to "do us over" why not accept she made a human error. There are enough conspiracy theories floating about already without another baseless crap theory growing wings.

Is it really killing football ? Honestly ?

Global viewing is at an all time high.
Attendances will rocket back after the pandemic, and look how many on here say they are finished with the game then we have hundreds of pages in the match day threads.

VAR hasn’t killed the game at all.
Right. Why seethe for weeks over some perceived injustice when technology can be used to get a higher percentage of decisions right. Maybe some fans miss having a fall guy to vent their spleen on when something goes against their team.

she made a honest mistake imo, they guy keeping bernado onside was on the other side of the pitch, bernardo would of been blocking him, she shouldn't have put the flag up though until the phase of play had ended.

and it is still shite. I was always told you cannot have 2 masters. Massey believed the passage of play had finished so she flagged for offside, the ref should have blown when she flagged, he didnt and now we have this farce.

We either have linesmen or we have VAR we cannot have both. VAR and the people using it are making football a joke. How is Msssey meant to decide when the attack is over to put her flag up ?
Why didn’t she just leave it down then, as she was supposed to do?

in the match day thread i stated i had no sympathy for Brom last night re the Massey flag, and i still dont, everyone knows you play to the ref, but there is one aspect of this that is a bit annoying....

in one of our games a few weeks back (cant remember who) there was a liner who was particularly reluctant to flag until about 15 seconds later, even when the offside was ridiculous. On two of those occasions, the forward for them played on full bloodedly (as is his right with no flag or whistle) but both of the occasions involved quite nasty 50/50s. Ball went off and the whistle went for offside.

The commentators picked up on it and it would be the most needless cause of injury.
