But surely the point is that the referee made the correct call based on the angle(s) he was repeatedly shown. It wasn't his incompetence that led to the wrong decision but that of those who disregarded (assuming they had access to that one angle) the view of one particular camera behind the goal. If there are 20 cameras covering the game, but those operating VAR predetermine only to view 10, then more such errors inevitably await.

Finest margins. Shame really, clearly off the elbow on one particular angle which I believe they had but the Turk seemed to fixated on the other two angles where it was not visible. I thought similar about the VAR review on the Juventus claims of Blind handling the ball late in their match - no different than the one that saw United go through over PSG yet VAR says it wasn't. Definitely VAR helps make the game more just but equally there are aspects to improve

This game was lost last week. Pep is a great manager but he fucked up big time . Rather win the league tbh but that is going to be difficult as well so maybe we might have to settle for 2 domestics this season . When you concede 3 goals at home you don’t deserve to go through truth be told
So which one was it ? Last week or last night ? You mention both there,I'd say last week as well for the record

Looked to us as if Aguero had a good call for a pen in second half but ref just dismissed this. Why didn't VAR look at that call?
The use of VAR in rugby is brilliant as they view every available single angle and TV viewers are able to hear what’s being said as well as all replays shown in the ground. If it can happen in rugby then why not in football given all the money in the game that isn’t in rugby. If it is going to be used then use it properly. The fact he was told to review it on the monitor surely suggests that someone had seen something not quite right.

Look we could have won 7-3 and you could say the same if we lost 4-0 in the reverse leg.
Its not a question of how many you concede but how may you score or the final result.
Away goals rule is old hat now and should be scrapped anyway if its level on goals after tow legs play 30 minutes extra plus penalties and have a more equitable outcome.
We didn't lose it last week albeit a result we didn't need we lost it over two legs due to away goals rule in force and poor officialdom.
IMO we were the better side over the two legs by some margin but that doesn't always mean you go through.

AS’s resident referee Iturralde González commented: ”It hits his hand first then his hip and the UEFA instructions are clear: you can't score if it hits your hand, even if it’s involuntary. It doesn't matter if the elbow is tight to the body. If it happens to a defender it's not a penalty, but if it's an attacker it has to be disallowed. Rossetti has told the UEFA referees.”
He added: "Irrati (the VAR) - the number one VAR official - advises Çakir because he's seen a hand. When Çakir comes back from seeing the images he tells the players 'I didn't see anything. It hit his thigh.' They didn't play him the view from behind where you can see it hits the elbow. The error from the VAR is not showing the two key images. Why? The question is getting it right, not how long it takes."
