Var debate 2019/20

Penalty all day long as the defender goes for the ball, doesnt get anywhere near it and lands on top of and brings Gundog down.

Its a foul anywhere else on the pitch so in the box its a penalty.
You’re right, backing up into an opposing player whilst they are challenging for the ball is a foul, you see strikers penalised for backing into defenders all the time. That’s why they were awarded a free kick for it.

Give over.

Is looking at a defender a foul now ffs?

Defender right through him its that simple.

VAR as a system is perfect, the camera never lies. The problem is just the tosser watching it. What we need to do, is to eliminate the human (tosser) imput, and get VAR checked by a computer. self checking VAR

That's what I've been saying. When there is 25 frames per second and the human can stop it at any one of the frames the outcome is biased. If a computer is told what to look for and acts in the same way each time then at least its objective which was the idea in the first place. VAR is fine it's the idiots using it. Off-side is the main case in point.

With subjective decisions they have to use a person but they need to be trained not to overrule a decision when a ball glances off an unstreatched arm and does not result in an advantage and a goal is given versus a ref missing a clear stamp for a penalty. These are ex referees and most non refs, once they were trained, could understand the difference.

What pisses me off is the different standards that the VAR referees use. Last season we had a stupid handball given against us but to be fair (!) an equally daft one was given for us against spurs away in the Champs league. That sets the bar, fans now know what to expect, any time the ball touches a defenders arm it is a penalty..... Except on Tuesday night. It is as if they make the rules up as they go along.

So you’ve seen the incident again and still claim it was a penalty?
We run the risk of looking silly if we claim non-penalties should’ve been given. Gundo went looking for the player and I didn’t need Walton to tell me that, same goes for the one on Raz and the one on Silva - I’m pretty sure there were loads of posts in the match day thread saying they should’ve been given as well.

Catching a few today with that pole you absolute wum.

It's like pep said everything we have won we've deserved, we have been given NOTHING and he stressed that point which considering what we've had to deal with and the ridiculous decisions we've had to endure make our achievements even better in my eyes, no fucker is accountable for these quite frankly ludicrous decisions and the media don't give a fuck with it being us who are screwed over.
