Var debate 2019/20

That’s based on the curvature of the Earth, whilst Anfield is the greatest place on Earth, it certainly isn’t the biggest

Every single tight offside gets the full var treatment, this one did not, they showed no lines or any forensic look at it and it took sky 30mins to show a mocked up pic,we have still seen not seen the var look at it,also when do they explain a decision during a game? it stinks

Why one day it is handball, and another it’s not a handball. Don’t ask me, ask them [referees]. Knock on the door, phone call, don’t ask me!”

Pep Guardiola on the officials decisions in

Former Premier League referee Bobby Madley [on twitter] on the #ManCity first-half penalty claim: “As [Bernardo] Silva handled the ball before TAA, this would have been penalised, even if a penalty had been awarded. Attacking handball doesn’t have to be deliberate..."Bobby Madley: "So, a penalty would never have been possible due to it touching [Bernardo] Silva hand in buildup.” *This tweet has since been deleted.*

So var should have stopped the game for a freekick to them

No idea BUT either way as the rules stand either it should be a penalty to City or they should disallow Liverpool's goal and award something else.

Doesn't Bernado Silva's handball only count if a goal is scored ? Imagine if Silva (yesterday) or Laporte (v Spurs) had accidently controlled the ball and it dropped at their feet. They were running with the ball in the area and were then clattered by a defender. That would be a penalty. The same should apply to Trent Darby's handball. Other wise in theory Trent could catch the ball with 2 hands and run with it to the edge of the area and kick it downfield. If Bernado's accidental handball had missed Trent and Kun scores then it would rightly be disallowed.(Under their current rules).
Also after the Wolves (Dendoncker) and City (Laporte) handball . They made a statement saying ANY handball in the build up to a goal would not be allowed. Surely Trent's handball started Liverpool's build up. Therefore as we were told after the Laporte incident, Liverpool could only score after City had regained possession or the ball had gone out. People asked after the Laporte handball "What could Jesus have done to allow city to score a valid goal?" . The answer if I remember correct was "nothing" , best he could do was try and kick it out against an opponent to win us a throw or a corner.
They have made it so fucking fuzzy and complicated now , it's open to blatent bias and cheating. I was fucking fuming yesterday and for the first time since the Laporte incident I'm in a bad mood the day after.

It's not fit for purpose. When John Motson, Gary Lineker and plenty of others are calling it out, there's something seriously wrong. This season needs an asterisk against it, it's a disaster and it's going to get worse because the people in charge "think" we need to get used to it. That's the level of stupidity we're dealing with.

Motty who is of the older generation understands the impact of VAR very clearly and he should be listened to. He has far more knowledge of the game than the pompous, overpaid, talentless twats that are running and ruining the game, the FA should put pressure onto the necessary associations to completely overhaul the system if it’s to be continued with, in the meantime it needs to be suspended along with Riley and Swarbrick.

But it suits the PL / PiGMOL criteria , as refs can justify every dubious decision they make . Corruption at it's best some might say.
