VAR impact and consequence log - game 27

It'll be interesting to see if there is a raise in attendance for Championship games next season - the highest level of football available without VAR.

For me it's about the spontaneity of celebrating a goal which has been taken away.

Goals are one of if not the main reason we go, to see our team score and go mad.

Then there are so many other issues, the time it takes is ridiculous. The difference in some decisions that have been made is another one.

Its shit. Football was never this bad before or at least I do not thing so

You’re being fooled mate , it shouldn’t have reached the goal stage , if Mahrez is offside flag goes up , end of move , we carry on , as we’ve always done. Now they’ve told em to keep their flags down so they can say ‘ look var got this right ‘ . Solving a problem that wasn’t there in the first place . An absolute con.

And the next time you won’t jump up , how can that ever be good for the game ?

For the first time in my match going life I started texting mates after the Mahrez offside/penalty farce. I did what I have slagged tourists off for, that's how far removed I felt from the game I love. I recovered by half time and thought fuck 'em, I will shout the team on just to piss the powers that be off but if this continues I am not sure I will be renewing.

100% agree mate , killed the game stone dead.

sorry no, he was clearly offside, it's what VAR is for. If you're saying you don't want VAR fair enough, but it's here so the focus now should be on making it work correctly, and in this case it did

I think the point is that the linesman probably knew it was offside but because it was close chose not to flag but leave it to VAR. If the linesman had flagged at the time the goal wouldn't have been scored.

I won’t be , the enjoyments gone.

And yet minutes later, the same linesman flagged Mahrez offside when he was actually on.
Why did he do that when he’s been instructed not to flag tight calls?
Why did Sian Massey do the exact same thing on Sunday?

At the match yesterday and half cheered when Everton kicked off. The death of the fucking game.
