VAR (PL introduction 2019)

Time to admit I'm wrong.
VAR isn't actually going to be used in these selection of matches, they'll just see how it would work in theory, without actually using it in matches

Not really 'wrong' as it wasn't explained properly.

I think this potentially a good idea, based upon the ACCURATE data that comes from knowing the average pct of ref decisions needing help from VAR review.

It needs a deeper pool to pull from, mind you and a better way to implement the usage of VAR (what we've pretty much agreed with on here).

As long as they release the correct and accurate data, yeah, I'd be happy with the experiment.

the best way forward is for players to stop cheating ?? and if they are found to be cheating then the punishment should be high and am talking about 10 to 20 game ban's, the harder the punishment the less likely to cheat ?? VAR is good for the ball like crossing the line and offside or mistakes by the ref anything else it just does not work

The world cup has shown VAR works perfectly well.
The league should've organised itself so that every match after a certain point (post Christmas break would've been fine) will have VAR.
Instead we're trialing something we already know works, absolutely ludicrous

There were some incidences during the World Cup where VAR wasn’t completely used well, I’d rather they wait and get it right then rush into it , a season trial is perfect.

VAR to be tested at Saturday's five 3pm games

The Premier League will test video assistant referee (VAR) technology across multiple games for the first time on Saturday.

After VAR tests at individual fixtures last season, the Premier League now wants to see how the system copes with several games at the same time.

The trial, across all five 3pm kick-offs, will be at the central VAR hub.

So last season when the ref went to do one thing and had an obvious word in his ear they were doing this,e.g fabs sending off,did they tell us it was in use or did i miss it?

Jon Moss was “misguided” in asking for TV assistance when awarding Tottenham their first penalty at Liverpool but called the decision correctly, the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) has said.

I like the disagreements about bent referees and bad decisions, in my honest opinion this VAR will be another step in ripping the soul out of football.
