It’s the director showing replays of the handball that was confusing.

Was the offside before it then? I couldn't work out when the offside was meant to be.

Apparently it was given as offside, so we got away with a blatant penalty!

That's the only explanation for the nature and position of the restart.

Having just rewound, the freekick was given several yards from where Richarlison was, and that must have been a very tight offside.

However there doesn't look to be any other occasion which would have led to a freekick for offside.
