refs have an impossible job. Some make awful decisions. It’s why VAR was very much needed. VAR has highlighted how bad refs are and have always been.

No they don't

They have a tough job, undeniably, but so do many others. And if others in any line of work performed like most referees they'd get sacked.

Not be given safety blanket after safety blanket.

VAR doesn't improve officiating which is what needs tackled because football still exists outside the Premier League in England.
