What possible motivation do you suppose the football authorities could have for insisting there is no outside interference in the VAR room, whilst secretly waiting for Andy Hinchcliffe’s verdict on a decision before they commit themselves?

They said they didn’t. You can hear sometimes on commentary when they’re discussing what’s happening and they think something and the VAR surprise them with another interpretation.

I’m happy to think what they told us is true.

Don't like all this attempted quest for complete accuracy, actually. The more accurate you try to become, the more other, smaller issues come into play until we all disappear up our own arses.

I said VAR was in contact with the TV companies, not the comms. VAR would have to be to get the footage to review.

I also recall the clear statement that VAR do not hear the comms. I think that must be true, as you'd have to utterly stupid to be caught in an out and out lie.

I think they explained it away as him being a bit confused.

where does that get us ?

will be the same level if not more outrage, every detail of the script will be overanalysed and even more scrutiny and pressure on the officials.

I'm not against any of the above, but I'm pretty certain it won't appease the majority of angry folk
