As someone who was against Var, but now accepts it is wonderful, I am glad to see that the 2 var operators who messed up royally in the Chelsea and Newcastle game have not been punished.
When has any form of punishment made things better? We all learn from our mistakes and I'm sure they have as well.

Edit: well colour me purple, they have hammered Mason. That is just wrong. It shows how much pressure the media can Bring to bear. I mean just ask Aguero.

How can you prove anything doesn’t happen? There’s interviews easily found where they explain exactly what goes on in there. It is explicitly stated by FIFA that there must be no outside interference in the VAR room and it specifically uses TV broadcasts as an example. If you don’t believe them, fair enough.

I read somewhere today that in way of an apology to Newcastle, they were told that they can rest assured that things will improve in 3 months time when Howard Webb takes over....WTF.

All will be well for the magpies then until they play the Rags, obviously

Sudden thought (they happen occasionally) which foot would it be measured on? Back foot or front foot?

Both. If one is beyond one of the last defender's (etc) then you're off side.

Or an embedded chip in your nose end. Etc, though you get the drift...

CL group stages first. Same system (only different number of cameras) but UEFA doesn't have a ball sensor. Will be interesting to see how the cameras pick out ball movement and the 29 data points on player position.

Should be consistent at least, but let's not get carried away with sexy graphics ...... need to judge how they are produced.

Cheating bastards.

10 cameras recording ball position and 29 data points on all 22 players 50 times a second apparently.

Don't like all this attempted quest for complete accuracy, actually. The more accurate you try to become, the more other, smaller issues come into play until we all disappear up our own arses.

Anyway, let's see how it goes.
