But the officials in the VAR room have the laws of the game, they know if it’s offside or not - it’s not the referees judgment call - they are the ones to tell the ref if it is off or not

Having the referee run to the monitor for a look and a chat for a offside is pointless and wastes more time - it’s a simple yes or no decision
I agree with that. That’s how it’s currently used but it’s used wrongly
1. They don’t show the evidence in real time during the decision making process
2. They don’t account for the fact that the technology is incapable of an accurate decision when the margins are small number
of cml.
Both issues are easily fixable as I have described.
Var is not going away but it needs to be the slave of the referees, not the master. Transparency is everything as it keeps the whole thing honest from fuck ups to match manipulation.

'Arry 'Otspur had the 'winner' disallowed much to Conte's vexation, for which he got the Klippity treatment - "Off to the fuckin' stands, yer foul-mouthed brigand!" The DT show a graphic where offside is as clear as day. I'm surprised the DT has shown this a a founding member of the RDAHMeedya they do their best to promote the quartet. I would have expected them to photoshop the two players who were off to the other side of the line of death!

I can't believe the amount of professional footballers, fans and pundits that thought the ball going backwards meant you can't be offside.

I think they're getting it mixed up with 'a player can't be offside if he's behind the ball'.

As it stands in the PL offside is still a judgement call as the moment the pass is made cannot be detected with any level of accuracy which makes it essentially no better than a guess. Even though the lines are automated someone has to choose the video frame to make the measurements from.

I keep saying I have no issues with the technology. It's the officials manipulating it for the outcome.

UEFA will be wanking over 2 refs bringing their own brand of shithousing to two already explosive ties.

I'm laughing that it's happened to Spurs and Altletico Madrid.

But if it had happened to us. Be it the Kane sterling tribute goal or Marhrez missing the after time suspicious penalty I'd be pissed off.

I’d say if it’s not obviously offside after looking at it for 20-30 seconds the goal should stand, offside was never intended for these marginal calls in the first place.

Yes sat there no doubt farting around and taking the piss, while getting paid. Possibly hungover, or still pissed. They should be checking everything and clearly the arrogant know it all's could do with some training on how to USE A UCKING VIDEO PLAY BACK!

True, but with cricket the fans see and hear everything that’s happening.
That’s because they are making binary decisions. There is no subjectivity in cricket really, barring maybe catches carrying.

They also have umpire’s call, which could be used on tight decisions in football, but it kind of is already with the clear and obvious element.

Nothing new. I saw Steve Redmond giving a linesman absolute dogs abuse one time for not giving offside direct from a goal kick.
