Maybe add a Captain's Challenge each game. For obvious and apparent errors, VAR must step in. If your challenge fails, then you lose the right to challenge for the next game.

Would just be another thing for them to bum us with imo.

I thought there was supposed to be a tightening up of the " pile on " approach with referees ?

Did the rags players get an exemption , as I thought the rat faced **** was shouting at the ref together with half the team ?

Why no booking for abusive behaviour at these scenes ?

Actually why am I surprised, as these cunts get away with so fucking much that other teams would never get - fucking disgraceful favouritism in open view.

There’s missing the point and there’s really missing the point.

Well the guy said with VAR “You can never truly celebrate a goal” I said on Saturday the whole end went mental when City scored. What point am I really missing?

Still wondering how they got it so wrong... besides the obvious and it got me thinking, the people saying Rashford isnt active (who clearly is), if Akanji pulled him down, would he then be deemed active by the powers that be and then pulled up for the original offside?

I love the concept of VAR. Correct mistakes in refereeing.

It's obviously a work-in-progress... but VAR is slowly making the game better - by eliminating human judgement/mistakes. How might this improve radically in the near future - AI. AI could make initial calls - and then humans might intervene for a final say-so. Eventually AI will become better - by far - and make almost no mistakes - on calls. And it will be instantaneous and without unnecessary delay. This coming to you within the next 10 years.

What I will never fully understand is how the decisions are made regarding which of the several angles available are chosen to show any contentious incidents.

Take the Haaland penalty appeal near the end of the match on Saturday. (or just as easily the handball goal that Spurs scored to knock us out of the Champs League)

The first angle broadcast CLEARLY SHOWED contact by Casimero on Haaland AND as Haaland kicks through the foul he gets a touch on the ball, and it shifts a little.

This angle is then followed by two others which, because of the positioning of the camera and the distorted perspective, APPEAR TO LOOK LIKE Casimero got the touch.

We are then shown these second and third angles repeatedly in an attempt to tell us that it wasn't a penalty.

We've probably all seen pictures where people look like they're pushing the leaning tower of Pisa over and it's much the same as that in my opinion. They show us all the different views, discard the one where it's obvious that some bloke is simply stood in a field with his arm out and then choose to rely upon the one where they can proclaim "Look, he's pushing the tower over, clear as day"
