Veseli comments on Twitter (merged)

He's probably the 'New Messi' seeing as they sold the last 'New Messi' to West Ham yesterday.

It must be some sort of rule they have in Trafford, you have to spend an inordinate amount of time on Twitter talking about MCFC.

It's what he's insinuating though. I agree with him.

I don't, if we'd given up on youth we wouldn't be building the new academy and publicly saying we want to be a self-sustaining club. We wouldn't have bothered to send a delegation to watch Guidetti rip apart Ajax the other day. Also, Mancini wouldn't have bothered giving Razak, Rekik, or Suarez any minutes at all. I think it's sour grapes, we haven't given up on youth, the youth just has to be really good to have a prayer. And Veseli isn't, Rekik is which is why at the age of 16 he had two first team appearances.

We bought Suarez, Roman, Rekik, Asulin, Pozo, Lopez and we have countless england youth internationals to complement them. What have we done with them? Are we doing a Chelsea and stock piling any half decent youngster who is going through a purple patch to avoid anyone else getting them?

Hows Abdul Razak supposed to break through if there are no games for Mancini, Kidd and Platt to see him in.

I can understand where Veseli and his agent are coming from, we've had a bit of a problem at centre half recently and neither him nor the likes of Wabara have had any opportunities to show Mancini they are worthy of a place on the bench. Now you might say Wabara never cut it at Ipswich but maybe he was never match fit because he had no game time before he went there?

We played Savic and had Rekik on the bench.

I will again remind everyone here that Mancini has given more City youth players debuts than any other manager in the past few decades. That means more than Stuart Pearce and Kevin Keegan.

And I'm not sure if you think reserves and academy people just sit around waiting to be called up to the first team, but they do have their own matches and league to keep fit/get noticed in.

Not sure why you have mentioned Savic. He is a full international with many senior games under his belt.

Also not sure why you have mentioned Mancini giving a few players their debut. This isn't about Mancini.

What's this league the reserves are in and what matches do they play?

The journos at the Thursday's press conference will probably pick up on the comments and ask Bobby if he's giving the kids a chance. Will make a change from the usual Tevez questions and shrugged responses.

I do think we shoud still have a reserve team. Not just because of this but when De Jong was injured we couldnt give him a run of games in the reserves to get him fit, he sat on the bench and got slated because he was half fit and looked shite

How was he 9th choice CB? I'd choose Balotelli as a defender over him

Lol - I do wonder how many of the people bemoaning his departure have actually seen him play. I've no axe to grind with the lad except for his bitter tweets but if he plays in the PL for the rags I will either be amazed or PMSL at how low they've sunk.
