Vet Fees

We use animal trust vets which is a none profit organisation and there are only a handful of them dotted around the northwest in failsworth,Ashton and Bolton and possibly a couple of others

We recently acquired our American bully at 8 weeks old and for a health check, both puppy vaccinations micro chipping and worming tablets the grand total was £70
Definitely worth a look at and there x-ray charges etc are on there website
Yes, and it is an option. Private equity companies buying up local independent practices and creating local monopolies is forcing people into debt or into not treating their animals. It isn't on and any solution is welcomed; doing nothing is not an option.

Had the fortune/misfortune to have to use my local 24 hour vet in Whitefield last night, firstly the process of how they deal with customers at the moment is very disappointing and distressing due to Covid you have to wait in the car not sure why vets should be any different to other service industry’s but there you go, they come out ask a question or two take the animal and then you wait for a phone call.

Now the distressing bit we witnessed a poor woman being told over the phone that her pet hadn’t made it, they could have quite easily come out and took her in but no, came out with cat basket and the bill. Poor lass was in bits.

Now the fortunate bit Long story, short yesterday evening the dog looked like it had a stroke, struggled on the back legs and disoriented and listless and had let her bladder go and then sick, off to emergency vets bloods taken etc and this will make you laugh the vet thinks she had picked up the remnants of a cannabis joint whilst on a walk, vet said they are seeing more and more of it, dog gets a toxic shock and is unsurprisingly fucking stoned and sick, had be on a drip all night but she’s seems to have come through ok. Treatment spot on customer service interface a nightmare Good job for Pet Plan as bill was edging towards a grand!

My vets have been operating like that since the first lockdown, when silva was killed by a car may last year they let me in to say goodbye although the nurse was infull ppe and couldnt comfort me , it was shit but i was grateful , the last time i was there she said they had yet to make the decision as to opening up and letting people in , it works ok though

Took my lad to vet on Thursday. Hurt himself jumping at me on Sunday afternoon with a hard landing. He limped all week but no pain. I took him up for peace of mind but Ive learned my lesson with him now. Dogs hurt themselves and limp like we do. Next time I will not rush up to a vet because it was more for my reasons than his, it just upset me to see him a bit slower than usual. Knocks and scrapes and bruises on flesh and bone, no different to us

Took our cat to vet a few months ago after he was limping. £400 for xrays and said his cruciate ligament looked damaged because there was a shadow on the xray and that it required an operation. I said we would give it a day or so and let the painkillers work before we decided cos he's 14 and doesn't need the stress. Two days later he was as right as rain. Proves your point perfectly

Ours was struggling to walk, kept stumbling. 2 weeks pain meds, right as rain. Back for assessment and had x-rays which cost £417. Back again for another assessment on Friday as xrays showed calcification on spine.

Anyone struggling with vet cost should take a look at this place in Bolton town centre. Had nothing but great reports about them.
A few people around my way use them mate and say nothing but great things about them.

They’re worst than a happy rag. I’ve had nothing but awful experiences, rip off merchants etc. Took my partners dog to one last year, was told she needs fluids, antibiotics etc after a scan. She had them and of course perked up. Took her to another one 2 days later, same scan, was told she had a tumour on her heart and she could pass at anytime and recommended euthanasia. £1150 we spent all up, £820 of it on the first vets that must’ve seen the tumour but decided to rip us off.

Snakes.

Our cat got diagnosed with FPH which is feline progressive hystiosis a form of rare cancer and the prognosis we were told was not good at all after we took him to the vets with apuss filled eye. I thought he'd been scrapping cos he hates other cats in his garden. That was in 2016 and every time I took him for his booster I would mention it and they would quickly change the subject when I mentioned the £2000 in bills we'd paid for all the tests. Eventually one of them said they might have misdiagnosed it after I sneaked a look at his notes when she was out of the room. I went fucking mental and refused to leave until I got an apology in writing which they wouldn't do so I stayed for several hours telling everyone who came in what a bunch of robbing lying bastards they were
