Maybe he can join Pellegrini´s staff in 1 or 2 years, Would be the next step.

Much will depend on how long Pellegrini stays in the job. If he leaves in the next couple of years it will probably be too soon for Vieira. However If Pellegrini stays for 4 or 5 years it might be that Vieira will be tempted by a job offer elsewhere, particularly if Arsenal approach him when Wenger steps down. He seems happy enough at City but I doubt that the emotional ties are that great.

Good point I feel if Wenger steps down he will definitely be on Arsenals radar

I certainly think the idea is/was that when Pellers goes we'll promote from within and let Vieira have a crack at the job as he'll know every player at the club and our style already. I'd be surprised if he'd be offered a bigger job anywhere else, don't think for a second Arsenal would take him without previous experience. If he did go elsewhere though to manage, it would certainly be beneficial for us as he'd likely want to take some of our youngsters on loan with him, and already know how to get the best out of them.
