Villa v City Post match Discussion thread

The future looks brighter now you have some of your boys back. But i would hate for Dzeko or Aguero to be sitting on the bench after there part they have played in this "almost" historic season for your club. They have been there all year fighting for this unlike Carlos. The battle is almost over victory for you guys is getting closer , now let your true heroes finnish the job they started.

Good luck

Let's be honest it was not a very convincing win but we now have a couple of games that can give us some extra belief and potentially boost our points and goal difference.

Great result. Totally dominant performance although when you have so much of the ball you have to create more clear cut chances

Villa were predictably very defensive
Fully agree

Not at our best but impressive performances from Zabs,Kolorov, Barry and Lescott and what a save by Joe. That will go down as a key point in the Season surely.

Whew, great win!!
Joe Hart MOTM for me, even though he only had to make around 3 saves, those were crucial..Poor Lescott, what must he do to get a MOTM? I felt he was better than Kompany today..
Silva was god-like in his passing, though he did fade towards the end..defence-splitting passes, dummies, feints..just amazing.

Though i still think we need to improve our finishing..and stop creating unnecessary pressure on ourselves in the final minutes..so many chances, yet few shots on-target and lots of misses..we should be pushing up our goal-difference in such games..who knows if it will ever become a deciding factor for the title..

Gareth Barry was immense in the middle of the park today, breaking up the plays when they decided to have a go better than De Jong and was playing some lovely balls to the front men. All round excellent performance and deserved MOTM.

we need to be sharper in front of goal, atleast we get more attacking options with balo, yaya and tevez coming back.

Mancini's tactics nearly cost us the game, why bring on dzeko in the 88th minute when Villa are having their strongest spell? - talk about motivating the opposition.

Then Bobby brought on Micah when the danger had passed!

Definately a lucky win. Thanks to Joe.

Good to be back on top!

Do you know anything, absolutely anything, about football?

I know enough to spot a bad substitution when i see one, Micah should have been on first, then Dzeko if at all.

The Bobster should have revived his defensive substition tactic at 88 minutes - especially as Villa we're playing their strongest stuff at that time.

Anyway, i'm just saying it was a let off, and personally i would have brought Micah on first to strengthen the back.

However...Forza Mancini Forza Hart

The Bobster! Deary me! You think it was a let off do you?

Villa truly are shocking. McLeish is a joke of a manager, terrible starting line up.

Villa were so bad you should have beaten them by 4 or 5. Nervy end, excellent from Hart
All teams have been playing like that against us recently. It's not easy opening up teams who keep ten behind the ball but yes he one area where City should have done better is in creating more chances and taking them.
