Villa v City Post match Discussion thread

A very good performance-great first half, dogged in the second. Lescott and Barry immense and Hart's save-wow!

Very thankful for the 3 points but very disappointing with the starting line up. Once again Hart has saved us with a quite brilliant reaction save. Its a myth that when we score the flood gates will open we did exactly the opposite and caused ourselves problems. That comes from the manager's instructions. Bob, Platt and Kidd need to wake up and realise what the best 11 is or we'll throw this title away.

Listening to commentators talking about our poor away form made me wonder....

Having had a look over the season we have 24 points, second to Utd and have scored more goals than anyone else...add to that a 12 played 12 won at home and things look pretty fucking brilliant if you ask me.

Really good performance. Everyone dug in and put a shift in. Silva was exceptional today.

I would like to highlight one thing though and that's the referee. How refreshing to see a ref deal with incidents quickly and efficiently. Players booked with no 2 minute conversation for the cameras. A ref that let the game flow and didn't want to be a celebrity.

Saved? I thought that was his job.

Villa truly are shocking. McLeish is a joke of a manager, terrible starting line up.

Villa were so bad you should have beaten them by 4 or 5. Nervy end, excellent from Hart
It was his tactics that kept it from being 3 or 4.

Imagine if he had opened up.

What he did is actually a winning strategy against us as Everton showed. I don't rate McLeish at all but what he did today was a generally accepted tactic against us, and you'd know this if you watched City games and weren't just here to WUM.
