Villa Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

lost to a team yesterday who didn't have one player who would get in our squad.

to take nasri off was suicide he was dictating the game, once he left the park, villa got a foothold in the game.

yet another game where every chance for the opposition goes in, cannot remember hart making a save, much like Cardiff, and numerous games last season.

not into this worrying about the next game, win the game you are playing, it's costing us points and is not good enough.

for the record villa had lost 9 of their previous 13 home games.

There we go again. Its all Dzekos fault.
He scored, what else do you want from him???
Two goals in two games, two more than Negredo who some rate way above Dzeko.
Why didnt Ngredo score as well so we could be talking about yet another win for city.
Here Dzekos haters he scored 4 in all competitions so far this season.
Has Aguero scored more?has Negredo scored more?
lay off Dzeko for once ffs.
only one to blame is Pelegrini with his daft subs.
Taking Nasri off and leaving Milner on the pitch is so stupid its unbelivable.

Gutted we lost, even more gutted for the fact we could have put some good distance between us and the rags, whilst putting us in a decent league position, given that in half of our opening games we have been terrible. (maybe just poor vs Hull)

But feel miles better than i did after the cardiff and stoke games - we played pretty well yesterday. On a different day we could have won by 4 or 5, but thats football for you i suppose. We can try to pick the bones out of the team/individual peformances but the bottom line for me is it was just "one of those games"

Commentator got it right - complacency.
Yes. It was written all over their faces. You could see it in the way they just strolled around in the first half. We should've put it to bed during minutes 10 to 45 - once we got the game under control.

Also, yes, taking Nasri off was stupid.

dissapointed with result, but the way we played at times was excellent but same as season before need to convert chances made - we lost, shit happens
still think we'll stuff bayern

For me dzeko is an inconsistent scorer as is negredo and the 2 of them upfront together was always going to create lots of chances with little reward. Sometimes we get away with it and sometimes we don't. For this reason we needed an Aguero on with them. I would have given Jovetic a chance but hindsight is a wonderful thing. This doesn't excuse bad defending or ref decisions but atleast if we are putting our chances away it cancels out some of these things.

The players and manager were guilty of complacency yesterday - it's not ok just to turn it on in the big Games. Only zabba, Kolarov, fernandinho, Yaya and Nasri came out of yesterday with any credit, plus navas when he came on. All the others were poor.

we played some excellent stuff yesterday but if we make silly mistakes, not put chances away it will cost us! absolute gutted , oh an cant forget that there first goal was offside!! anyway we cant keep losing these silly games, it WILL cost us, these are the games you look back at the end of the season an say we should of won that! we have lost to cardiff, villa an drew to stoke an tbh the only hard team we have played is united! that is worrying

The ups and downs of City fans - from ecstasy to gloom.

Villa's tactics totally outsmarted us - they lulled us into a sense of complacency with the ineptitude and our defence just switched off as they had so little to do. But the dumb bugger with the red and yellow flag was hopeless making many wrong calls which seemed to favour the home team - their first goal.

But our defending was shocking. Needless foul in a very dangerous position (result second goal). Centre backs asleep when their goalie actually managed to kick the ball down the middle of the pitch instead of his usual touch finding punts - third goal.

Villa players and fans will wake up shortly and realise they didn't dream the result - it actually happened. Play crap and still get the points - only City can be so benevolent.

But what really annoys me is that we could have put an even bigger gap between us and the rags.

Oh well, that's life for a City fan.

I personally didn't think the pairing of Dzeko and Negredo didn't work very well. Thoughts??

Did my dry sense of sarcasm go over your head?

It's called SAS (selective attention span).

-- Sun Sep 29, 2013 9:28 am --

Lot of possession , little created, no world class forward. With Sergio we would of opened villa up. Both our goals were slightly fortunate and that's about that. We were the better side but yet again came away with fuck all. Expect more results like this until we become used to grinding out results away.

Luckily none of our main rivals have had a flying start either. Well except the gooners but they haven't got the quality to last the course. We'll turn this around and find our form, just got to give Pelle a little bit longer to get some of the rest of the team pulling their weight. Once Silva and Aguero start blasting we'll be fine.

Is it the year 2012?

We had 21 shots on goal, so the "little created" comment doesn't really make sense. And "Both our goals were slightly fortunate", really?
