total control, are you sure? I'd always give Vinnie the benefit of the doubt based on the past but some of his play / decision making last night was diabolical

I really hope he can recover to get close to the Vinnie of old...

Well he was pretty much in control of big nose who he was marking, not many opportunities,(if any) at our goal in the first half was the point I was trying to make

If that was true, that he said at ht he was tired and needed to come off then fine, although I find it very strange,it is usually the manager who realises a player is tired,he had only just broken sweat, had big nose in his pocket,ok,some passes were a bit stray, but I thought he had a steady 45 mins, and to be captain of this club,in a derby to say he was tired............................no I'm not buying it
He hadnt only just broken sweat. I remember seeing him after about 35 mins and he was sweating like a bastard, visibly more than anyone else on the pitch. He's getting up to speed with fitness that's all. I think it was right to sub him off, if he was looking like that in the first half then it makes sense to leave him out for the second. Tired struggling bodies pick up injuries

And lost us the game ah well, onto Saturday for another cameo appearance then

Totally agree. I love Otamendi, but he's one of those defenders who loves defending, and he can be a little rash and indisciplined. Thats his game. Kompany is the perfect partner for him, always there to mop up incase he gets his timing wrong. Otamendi is always better alongside Kompany. Stones is still young, and I fully believe he will be a great defender, and Kolarov is really a left back. Kompany is still our best defender, and I think he made the right call in going off. He has to listen to his own body, and not play through the pain barrier as he did in the past, which has proved costly.

+1
