I think last night was an indicator that he's very good away at physical sides, but his passing is a problem. He caused us to panic on too many occasions with his use of the ball.

Puyol, Pique, Chiellini, Ramos, Boateng, Hummels, Bonucci, Godin, Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry, Carvalho some of the best CB's of last 5-10 years. All played CL final or more of them or won Euros or WC's. Kompany wont be delivering a CL final with City I am afraid and he comes up short lot of the times in these high pressure CL knockout games uless he is injured.
Still a legend and a fantastic captain but for the reason mentioned above cant be in the same class as those in terms of the career.

Yes and very noticeable Klopp had instructed his players to allow Vinny to be the one who played the ball out more times. Just watched the highlights again... Vinnie's so out of place for their second - is playing exactly in the space Otamendi was in, and let a huge gap for O-C to line up his shot...

No, the one before. Kompany cut out a pass (no quibbles there) in the centre right, but Nico probably had it covered, and it left a massive hole in the centre. i disagree with the above posts. Kompany would have cleared the first goal if not for ederson's deflection. And Kompany cleared the initial danger at the second goals, it's just that the rest of man city was caught sleeping for the second ball. Kompany was definitely not the reason of the loss against Liverpool. Midfield failed to dictate play.
