I don't think this is any more true than it is of Pep's trust in any of the other 3 CBs. From what I can tell, it seems Pep goes with who's in form and what he is concocting in his head.

That said, if all things are equal and everyone's at their best, I think John and Ayme are the starters in any game. Big or otherwise

We can be guilty as a club & fanbase of holding onto players for too long.

Yaya & even Zab were with us past thier sell by dates. It seems Vinny has reached/is reaching the end & much as I love him should perhaps have moved on in the summer but love is a two way thing.

Totally agree. Sport has no room for sentiment. Must be allowed to leave in summer. He could play for another couple of years . Lower down the leagues. We need four healthy fit centre backs minimum. Nico getting older and kompany injury prone are too much to carry.

Ho the leadership arguement is hard to follow kompany has hardly played and we are in four cups and top of league. We are getting leadership from somewhere! Being a good coach isn't just about football it's about developing people, seeing them grow.
Pep is trying to create an autonomous group that has 11 leaders on pitch at one time. That is coaching.

I see Liverpool falling into the trap we did a few years ago with kompany.
They ain't the same side without VVD. Great if he is always fit which he won't be. A self created Achilles heel. We have moved away from that and it really doesn't matter if kompany didn't play again this season or at all next. The chapter is closed.

I read his post differently. I took his post to read we are no longer dependent on Vinnie as shown by our current position as opposed to the scousers who have full dependency on VVD, nothing to do about whether Vinnie will play again for us or not

It's not about belief vinnie has been excellent. However how many minutes has he played in last two season? Not many. Let's say 100k a week.? That's 10.5 million in wages......we are not a bottomless pit. Those wages need invested in someone available 75%of time not 7.5% of time !

Here's a question for ya.....if city had 10 other players in squad like vinnie . As fit as vinnie what would we win ?

It's not about belief vinnie has been excellent. However how many minutes has he played in last two season? Not many. Let's say 100k a week.? That's 10.5 million in wages......we are not a bottomless pit. Those wages need invested in someone available 75%of time not 7.5% of time !

He’s already been offered a ‘pay as you play deal’, which indicates pep thinks the 9/10 games he does play, merits the contract.... I’d also add that we’d win 90% upwards of those games, which is invaluable to the cause!

I don't agree . If our other three centre backs were injured as much as vinnie we would be goosed. He is trading on the back of their good health ! If they were injured as much we would have little choice but to let him go. Look how difficult it has been the Mendy situation. We just keep putting sticking plasters over that Delph , zin or la Porte ! You know him our healthy centre back ! So sorry don't agree . For me it would end this summer.

Even though I might have misread your original point due to being a little bit pissed I’d just like to respond to your final sentence.

Probably neither of us..... Media appalled that ozil has only been available 66% of time at arsenal. You seem a man in the know pablo1. What is vinnies availability ? . Let sentiment go. Vinnie is our darren Anderton . In no other business would a guy who is available 1 day in ten keep his job. If we had invested those wages in says Jadon sancho he may have stayed? Which is a better strategy. Would you pay money and buy andy Carroll?
