Well,if......this is the time he and the boss come to the decision that this will be his final season as a player here, then wow....what a moment, and a season to bow out and cap one of the most incredible and successful careers in modern football.

Not only a City great but a Premier league one too - they broke the mould with Vinny and he'll be forever remembered as one of the greatest Skippers this club and this league have had the pleasure to witness.

The fact every single club in european football would have taken him in is prime, and the way he has defied injury and critics, speaks volumes about the character and the desire of the man.

I hope he signs another 12 months, but if he doesn't.....then he leaves with our thanks and with a place in our hearts.

What a player,what a man,what a leader and what a legend!

City loves you more than you will know!!

Where he's really good still is in those tight situations where teams start lumping the ball forward into the box. His pace has gone, but he still generally commands the defensive line against that kind of attack - and better than the ball playing defenders we have.

He's probably our fourth choice now. But that's a hell of a good fourth
choice.

I do talk some bollocks at times.

His interview and Pep’s certainly sounded like he was off which is very sad.

But what a way to bow out at home if he does leave.

My feeling (and it's only a feeling) is that City have offered him a year, but he is deciding whether he wants to play more regularly, given he's got limited time left in his career. That strikes me as more the decision for him rather than whether City will offer anything - I find it hard to believe they wouldn't.

Vinny walking round the pitch crying, after that goal, then greeting his kids, has to go down as one of the great iconic MCFC moments. He's an intelligent, sensitive man and I think he was thinking "this is the pinnacle of my career". Very moving.

Yeah, whatever he was thinking before the game regarding his stay / contract situation, after yesterday he must be toying with the idea of finishing this whole thing off with such style.

I've never been as attached to a City player as I have Vinny. Zabba was close, but when Vinny goes i'll be gutted. I don't want to think about it!

In an ideal world the club would offer him whatever he wants and he'll take it. He won't demand much financially, I bet he'd play for free. He must know his body cant play every game. I think we've used him well this season. 2 year deal Vinny, play to 35 then call it a day.

The man deserves to be a champions league winner. he's too good not to have that medal in his cabinet.

The strange thing about that is that the only reason he doesn't play more is because he physically can't. When fit Pep picks him for almost every big game.
