How about blaming the thugs for scrapping, rather than police and tournament organisers for failing to stop them?
If people drive like twats and get hurt its not the fault of police or the highways agency. Mayb if someone gets drunk and drowns its the lakes fault?

Nobody is saying the idiots aren't idiots, but the lack of planning is there for all to see, and after 2 days of violence, you might have thought somebody in charge of Marseilles might have thought about having a plan, what do they want, someone to be killed ? It appears the only plan was let them do what they want then chuck tear gas at people, not caring who gets hurt.

Even during the televised trouble the police haven't been seen to be arresting anyone, half the time just stood watching.

Agreed 100%. In spite of large numbers of police it appears they make no attempt to keep rival factions apart at all. ''Hey look we have a group of English fans in the square over there....ohhh what's this I see? A large group of mean looking masked men all in black T-shirts marching menacingly towards them.What should we do?'' Nothing is the answer. They then stand and watch as it all kicks off,then lob some tear gas into the mix.Insanity.

Cunts are always gonna be cunts, that's why we have police and security. I don't think anyone would suggest that the cunts are totally blameless, however most people called this before the tournament, so how in God's name it's been allowed to escalate to this 1980s/1990s fiasco is purely and simply down to UEFA and the police.

One very obvious example of the lack of planning was that in all the photos of the Old Port trouble you can see discarded boxes of Heineken bottles. So the authorities couldn't possibly envisage any problems that might materialise by allowing the shops/bars in that area to sell tens of thousands of glass bottles to pissed up football fans. To then allow this to continue after the first day of fighting just shows how little thought the French have put into it.

Time for some of those so called sports jurnolists to do some proper investigation work. UEFA Are not blameless in this, lots of fans had tickets that weren't in their designated areas. Will be intresting to see how many would be traced back to UEFA execs.

I'd suggest banning england fans from away games/tournaments for starters, and then banning England from international football if there is still a problem. Same for other countries who have dickhead fans.
