Virgin media

Pity to hear all these tales of woe, hope my virgin doesn't go the same route. Bit of a monopoly as Virgin seems to be the only provider where you don't need to fork out a line rental on top of the BB cost.
Been with them for years never had a problem with TV or my phone package unlimited texts and calls 1gb Internet £18 a month that's with a new phone, get a bit of a discount because of the length of time we have been with them

Always read the small print to check your ISP doesn't throttle your internet during peak hours. If they do you're forking out a fortune for shit internet.
Virgin did get rid of theirs. Think if you abuse the service they just write to you and threaten disconnection.

I would just sniff quiet riots mac and use a hacked modem.....free 100Mb internet....sorry for the loss of service QR :)

They do have a free newsgroupserver that is not well known to its customers....google nzb if you dont know what one does

On wifi I get about 50mb-75mb downstream and 12mb up in Withington. On a lan cable it jumps to 184-210mb up!

I dont understand that at all. As at 50 to 70 down you should be getting maximum 3 up. Thats as advertised. If you are getting 12 up then you should be getting 150 to 200 down so you are not getting anywhere near what you are paying for.

Just on wireless. I understand wireless connections can be less due to other factors(wifi signals from 2 tablets, 2 phones, 1 laptop, 1 sonos, 1 Smart TV etc. "The internet of things etc"

Looks like virgin broadband and now tv might be an option , getting tired of the full sky package but might want the occasional game

The customer service in my opinion is by far the worst I have ever experienced.
I'd been threatening to bin them off after donkeys years but always gave in and renewed.
This time I held firm knowing they'd ring and so I "reluctantly" agreed to I keep the broadband and got a free top of the range router too.
I use kodi for tv now but I have to say it's so much faffing about setting it up and locating channels I'm thinking of getting a "bent" cable box if such things are still available.

Anyone know of any, or even a simpler way of getting a cheap reliable tv service?

Doesn't have to be all channels, in fact I pay £7 for 2 months to news-source for reliable football streams.

Is there any sort of service like that for other tv channels? I don't mind paying around that amount if it's so cheap and it also works really well with the Live Streaming app.

Any tv shows you want to watch is on kodi so why you want tv shows to watch live

I'm taking about Nickelodeon etc for the kids, or Discovery etc. I know there's that iVue but I just think setting each channel up is a right pain in the arse, then the link you set it to goes off anyway.
I just want something like ivue, on the main screen linked to a service that won't go down. I've heard of ipstalker but I believe that that's a payable survice now but I don't even know how to set it up. It tries to kick in but says it its out of service or something - probably because I have no subscription.

They ain't one that I know of that never goes down I've been using kodi for years and they always go down for some reason, probably the Mobdro app which has all channels is you best bet.
