That was my little boy's first game. As we trudged home piss wet through I said, "Welcome to City son". He's in Afghanistan now but I don't think the two events are related.

when the ref called it off, i was on the kippax with my mate and his dad. the crowd were chanting "the referee's a wanker". my mate's dad went to join in with his big booming voice just as everyone stopped. he tried to get away with it by bellowing "the referee's a fucking **** as well."

He scored a bullet of a header at Sheffield Wed think we won 3-1 or 3-2 or did we get beat that score, fuck getting old memories going.

It was 3-0 to City and David White scored the other two. One was the result of the Sheffield Wednesday keeper handling a back pass. It was the first season the back pass rule had been introduced. I was lucky enough to be in the directors box that day at Hillsborough.
